Hi all,
I drive a 96' Celica GT. Recently, I purchased a set of indiglo gauges of ebay and installed them. The gauges work and light up nicely, however, I believe I spliced it incorrectly. I tapped the parking lights for these gauges. Took the instrumentation cluster out, spliced into a green wire (parking lights) on the left side behind the dash, and grounded the negative end to the chassis. The gauges light and dim without a problem, but now my right side marker light does not light. I was thinking the gauges were drawing too much power for the side marker to be operating, but that doesn't make much sense. Perhaps I shorted it? Any thoughts or help on this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Ed |

I took out my stock dimmer switch and spliced right into those wires. That way, It indigo guages are only on when the switch on the steering column is on. Works perfectly.
EDIT: BTW, rjbibeau, you dont happen to know what color the illuminator wire was, do you? This post has been edited by CheesyLobster: Nov 16, 2004 - 12:50 AM |

I would pop the bulb out and check if there is any voltage across it.
If there is not much in the guage but some led's, and it sounds like you ran it in parallel with the lights you will probably have around .7 V which won't be enough to run the light. But can't be certain w/o a schematic. |

Thanks for the replies. I'll check the voltage through the bulb.
BTW, If I change it to the dimmer switch, which wires do what? I know there are three in that assembly. Pos? Neg? Other? |
