Does your car have a turbo?Because it could be your seals going. But either way it sounds like oil!

white smoke is coolant burning. the valve stem seals would emit a blue smoke since there is oil on the seals.

He DID say he was somewhat color blind and it's only a little bit of smoke from cold starts which has been determined that the most likely culprite is valve stem seals. White smoke is rarely a problem, black and blue possibly. White smoke in only the mornings is usually moisture build up from the car sitting over night with the morning dew, much of the same that happens to your windows over night.
More likely then not, its nothing to worry about. |

You guys are scaring the sh!t outta him, my god.
Its most likely condensation, IE why its only in the mornings where EVERYONES car does this in the mornings. Did it do this in the summer? -------------------- |

Sounds like you do. You can do a compression test and see if 1 or 2 are below normal, and you can also check your oil next time you change it. If it is milky, then your leaking coolant, most likely a blown head gasket. If the coolant gets mixed in with the oil... well you can imagine what it can do to your internals. When you do get it replaced, make sure you know why it blew in the first place, and address it so it doesnt happen again. Many times if your engine overheats, the head will warp, and cause the gasket to blow. So if you replace the gasket, take the head to a machine shop and make sure it is totally flat. -------------------- |

A blown head gasket would be alot more noticeable than some smoke.

Yeah I don't think it is any thing to worry about about. My car does it in the morning and I see it coming from all the other cars too.
