im looking into getting a new cd receiver because the stock one i have has no spots to plug an amp/sub to. im trying to keep it under like $200. im interested in alpine and clarion only, unless there is something better for the money.
so what would you guys recommend? edit:spelling(i before e or something like that) This post has been edited by 96cel_John: Mar 20, 2003 - 5:43 PM |

I just bought the pioneer deh-p7400mp. I have always been a fan of alpine but the features and the price of the pioneer made me try it. It even plays mp3's.
Sounddomain.com has it for $229 and it will give you the most bang for the buck. |

if you want the best cd player on the market, go with the clarion drx 9675. it will cost you about $700 or $800, unless you find one on e-bay. i bought mine for $500

dude find the radio you want, then buy it off ebay...you'll save 20-30% easy..for instance....i am looking into buying the kenwood excelon 959 like the best radio they make..goes for 600 in crutchfield..ebay has em for 350....you can buy the harness you'll need for like 15-20 at CC or best buy or whatever...

I bought a rockford fosgate at best buy for 150 bucks. plays mp3s and it's a nice silver w/ red. I wanted red lights 'cos im planning on getting a red 'theme' for the interior. can't say it's the best. 40x4 but i like it and im not going to spend too much on a stereo where i can spend it on other things ya know? but buy what you want man, just don't buy a pyramid or something like that, stay with a brand name that will last you.

a wiring harness is where it connects the wires from your car (factory) to the new wires for the cd receiver. Most likely they dont offer them cuz they dont know which car the receiver is going in. And yeah, you can get those cheap at stores. |
