well, i keep forgeting to take pics of my 260z, but my friend took one pic after i had moved it to the other side of the garage to clean things up and wait for the replacement turbo
its all painted flat black untill i can get a maaco paint job, i had to replace the drivers fender and headlight nacel thingy. car was red faded to ugly orange. i stripped it down to metal and painted it with OSH brand flat black enamel to prevent rust, plus from 20ft away, it looks awesome. not bad for cheapo paint. engine swap went great. car got spark the third time i tried it. i had forgotten what wire was supposed to connect to the ignitor on the coil. and once i routed the wire harness into the body, i powered up the ECU, turned on the fuel pump, and it started the very first time. thats when i noticed that vast amounts of oil comming out of the turbo. so i drove her up the streetand back down into my garage. the centerforce dual friction clutch really grabs hard. gotta work at it to break it in properly. here is a recent pic of my friends 71 z, he is also going to do the same engine swap i did, but with a cleaner setup as well as an SDS EFI system right off the bat with 450cc injectors, a turbo with a larger exhaust housing than what i ordered. its really funny cuz he already got his custom plates that say turboed z but the car is pretty slow and just for fun here is a pic of my WRX. its amazing how much better a fmic makes a car look -------------------- 1994 Celica GT4 WRC Edition

QUOTE(Coomer @ Nov 30, 2004 - 11:30 PM) Sweet cars! I especially like the look of that '71. man i still cant believe his luck with that car guy was asking $6500. my friend and his dad were willing to give the guy $5k cash i was going to test drive the car for him. on the day of the test drive, the guy calls and says something happened to the transmission. i go and drive it anyway, tranny was hard to get into gears, and it made all sorts of noises. so we left. later the guy called my friend and said it completely broke, jammed in a gear and siezed up, would not drive. he then said $3k for the car, my friend said $2500. a few days later guy called back and said $2750. he bought the car, the next morning we went to a junkyard, bought a tranny for $150(another 4spd) and a new clutch kit for $200. resurfaced the flywheel for $30 and put it all in. so a full 24 hours after he bought the car and had it towed to his house we got the car running for an extra $400. then we put in the electronic ignition my friend with a 73 z had until he swapped to an 82 turbo engine. the electronic ignition and cleaning of the carbs got rid of the intake backfires it was having. as of now, the clutch we put in is slipping, he never broke it in, i drove it for him the first 20 miles, then he took over, lol. the tranny is about to die as well, all in like 600 miles. he beat on it pretty hard -------------------- 1994 Celica GT4 WRC Edition

BTW
that box on top of my black Z is holding the broken intake manifold from the 96 mustang GT my cousin bought. got the car for $2500 as a long term project car. we managed to find an intake manifold. we replaced it and got the car running right in 1.5hrs. we also found out that the car has full exhaust, headers, X-pipe with cats, and flowmaster catback. -------------------- 1994 Celica GT4 WRC Edition

there is nothing like a car where you dont ever have to have a smog/emissions check. but they certainly need a lot of work unless you shell out a lot of money for one where someone already did most of the hard work that's why my friend is so luck with his car. everything is done on that car, except for a powerful engine. -------------------- 1994 Celica GT4 WRC Edition
