depends on the place. But to install and paint JUST the body kit, expect to pay around 500-800 dollars (depending how much work it needs to get it installed). To paint the entire car, it should cost u anywhere from 1,500-2,000 dollars or maybe more. Depends on the place u go to.

I'd expect to pay anywhere from $300 to $1,000 for painting the body kit alone. If you're going to have them modify it for a perfect fit, that'll cost you more too.
And to paint the whole car and get a good paint job, I'd expect to pay $1,500-4,000. It depends on the shop, how much work your car needs, what colors you want to go with, etc. The best thing to do would be to check local shops. Most of us don't live in St. Louis(That's STL, right? ), so we have no idea. Just go to local body shops and they'll give you estimates. Be sure to check out customer cars and current projects and stuff like that. -------------------- New Toyota project coming soon...

Yeah, paint jobs are expensive...especially getting custom work done(like fitting kits) or getting an engine bay painted. I got a great deal on my paintjob...dings/scratches all fixed perfectly, jams painted, tri-stage pearl paint, all for $1,600, or the equivalent of $1,600. My engine bay wasn't sprayed, but I did that myself.

Expect to pay a whole lot if you want to do a color change. Cuz that will involve painting all of the door jams, ect. I'd say $5000+

Lucky for me my dads friend owns a body shop. He is just charging me for the paint. He is going to help me fit the kit and paint it for free. Kit comes in on the 22nd. I cant wait.

hmmm... it really all depends on how much work you do to set your car up for the painter.. if you sand your car down and fiberglass all the dents and dings and **** and prep **** for him.. it will be hella cheaper.. also black is the cheapest paint.. and depending on the place changing the color from light to dark is much easier than changing it from dark to light.. because if you do dark to light.. thats more work for the place, because they have to take it down to metal basically.. you can just paint over light colors with dark colors without doing that.. but you will still have to sand it down a ways..
this is why i am going to be doing all my prep work and getting it set up for the painter so i dont have to pay up the ass.. i helped paint my ex's eclipse, and christ.. that was a journey/... |

Yeah me an a buddie are going to paint our cars this winter( I might not if i dont get enough money) but We figured it to cost around $300 each, thats because he already has all the tools witch he already spent like $1000 on. And we are going to do all the work. I just think if your goign to do anything to your car you shold do it your self. But then again thats what happend to all the hondas.

First paint job I had was around $4,000 with color change, new hood, new headlight, and they fixed alot of hail damage. Second one was only $1,400 and they painted all but the back bumper. Third paint job was around $3,000 for the whole car being painted, fixing somedoor dings from other stupid people, and smoothing out the back bumper. We know the guy well now so he gives us the best deal he can

Im doing all the work myself. It only took me like a 1/2 day to sand down to bare metal. The whole car. I used a 50 dollar sander from walmart. worked great.
The hardest think im getting into is the molding of the bodykit. Fiberglass, sand, fiberglass, sand, bondo, sand, bondo, sand, fiberglass glaze, sand. Forever it is taking me. But i am learning as i go. I bought the paint already. $250 for a gallon of Titanium Gray Mettalic, and $150 for a gallon of Epoxy primer. and $100 for the spray gun. Gonna hopefully paint it this spring.. |

^^^ yeah you want to make sure its smooth as hell before you paint it.. so all the dedication to sanding, is well worth it... cuz once you paint it.. its done..

damm sounds like you guys arnt gettin the best deal. I got a quote from a shop for 1200$ complete color change, but its not that hard. Gettin resprayed white with mother of peral overlay. I am saving alot of money tho stripping the Interior myself (only because of cage), and this is going on during my swap, so the engine and wiring harness will be gone, so its saving them tons of time.

DTE $1,200 for a complete color change is pretty cheap. I know you think you have the best hook ups on everything, but I'd be wary of a paint job for that price unless you know the shop personally or something. Have you seen customer cars and such? -------------------- New Toyota project coming soon...

Not even a hook up can you believe it. I have seen alot of there work and it looks good, by me striping the interior, and the shop stripping the engine/wiring harness saves alot of money. Plus I am not going complete color change ie: teal to yellow, just white to white with a mother of pearl overlay so its not a huge color change.
