Hey ive been out for a couple of days during the holidays and my ride been sitting in the driveway all that time... it started no problem and i let it run at idle for couple of minutes before taking off but the engine was choking whenever i hit the gas in 2nd or above and when going back to idle (had to rev up alot so it doesnt stop). After 15 minutes everyhting go back to normal. This happen everytime i dont use my car for 3-4 days or more.
It must have something to do with humidity... any ideas of which parts/wires might cause this? |

Well what do you mean by tune up? I had spark plugs/wires/battery changed 2 years ago and all fluids are fine

It could be a lot of things, and weather really isnt an reason for any problem for a car. I would say do a tune up. spark plugs oil filter, air filter, GAS FILTER, then plugs cap rotor. Then if that dosnt help it, i would say try and check for a vacume leak. It there is no vac leak, check ur fuel pump and injectors. It could be other stuff but that should give u an easy start to checking up and getting it runnnign smothly.

focus on the cap and rotor. Sometimes, extreme weather could "shock" the material the cap is made out of and crack it.

Mine is doing about the same thing. It will start right up, and then it will idle verry low, and act like it's gonna cut out, but it never does, it just sits at a super low idle till I rev it up a few good times and then no problems untill it sits for a few days. |

I'm having the same problem, exept mine does it every time I start it up if it's been sitting only a few hours. I think weather can be the primary cause of some problems with cars, how could you say it doesn't effect?

I have a similar problem as well. My car hesitates, like its not getting enough/too much gas. I changed spark plugs, wires, gas filter, cap and rotor, fixed a couple vacuum lines, and messed with the throttle and idler to get everything just right, still does it though. Any suggestions?

I'm having the exact same problem but my car actually cuts off. It first happened when I was driving my car away from getting a tune up (not even 1 minute) and it happens if I don't let my car warm up for at least 10-15 mins every morning before driving it. If it's not warm, it'll cut off and act like it doesn't want to start again. After a couple of seconds it'll start and I'll have to rev it up for it not to cut off. The RPM's are very low also and it dips all the way down (almost cutting off) when I stop revving it up.

Mine didn't start till I put the short ram intake on. Maybe air/fule mixture makes sense. I fund a HOW TO reset your air/fule mixture article on this site. I am going to try it. I am out to sea right now(NAVY, go figure) and can't do it till I get back, and then I have to wait till I get my car back from the body shop any ways, so if one of yall want to try it, let me know if that does the trick. It can't hurt anything to rest it. Here is the thread

I remember a while back my car wouldn't idle well (around 100 rpms) and I reset the ECU and everything went back to normal.
