It's been a while since I've been on here. (finally sold everything, quit my jobs and moved to the beach in Florida)

I thought it was funny that you thought of a great idea to do a calendar. In fact, I thought it was a good idea in May. Then you used cafepress. Hmm...that sounds familar. Whats this? You marked the calendar up from the base price of $14.99 to $16.99? Is'nt that the same thing you ripped on me about? Of course my markup was to keep the merchandise site paid for, but your merchandise is a free site. (the link below is to the topic in may that I am refering to)

I must say shid and coomer, I am a bit dissappointed.

Actually the markups to pay for the 60 bucks I had to pay for the test prints and overnight shipping to make the calendar, to say nothing of the 40+ hours of my time I donated making it.

currently, the calendar has made me 58 dollars, so I'm almost breaking even- at first I couldn't even order the test prints for a couple days because I had to make rent.; I told Coom the same thing I told everyone, when we sell enough the price goes down.

You mean you did'nt want to shelll out your own money for it? You wanted the calendar to pay for itself? Yea, thats all I was doin when you 2 got on me. (see the previous discussion) That's why I call you a hipocrite. All the sudden when its your idea (which it was'nt, see previous discussion) it's ok to make back the money you put into it.

BTW, I like the calendar. You did a good job, even if it did take you 10 times the amount of time it should have taken.

No tweek, I did want to shell out my own money for it. Unfortunetly my financial situation wouldn't let me. Originally i offered the markup to coomer, but he didn't want it. And you're mispelling hypocrite.

And tweek, we all knew it wasn't my idea, unfortunetly I was the only one who got it off the ground.

And for clarification, your idea for the markup was to pay for a useless premium site; my markup was to pay for the cost involved in guaranteeing a quality product to the 6gc community and get it out before xmas- which we did barely.

It took "10 times the amount of time it should have taken" because I actually did a nice job. Wading through submissions, weeding, then coomer even wrote a script to allow voting to go through smoothly, then consultation on the voting results. Finally going through all 12 images and making them look the best that they could do with gamut safe printing (while we had no idea what cafepress was using to print them) and then make revisions based on our test print.

And btw, you're not the first person to bring this up- but before spouting their mouth off they had the decency to PM me and ask what the markups for; satisfied, they did not post.

Sean increased the price to pay for his test print and overnight shipping. Not to get a free one. He had to ensure that it looked good and was done right before everyone. And once he breaks even, he's changing the price back down to having no markup if I remember correctly.

You didn't mention anything about test prints of your products, and I'm sure you didn't spend days developing products like Sean did.

You marked up using pictures already availible on the 6gc website, he did some work creating the calendar. Giving someone a couple bucks for some hard done work is far different then giving somone money to use pictures readily availible. I could have easily gotten on and recreated what work you did, Shid's however would of taken me a fair bit of time, there inlies most of the difference. Also I dont recall you having cared about test prints... it was a good luck basis, if you had done that you may have gotten a better responce to the markup.

I did not buy the calender off the site because after having my SI calender on febuary all year (hottest girl in there for the month my bday falls in rocks) I knew I would never bother with it. However the only thing I have purchased threw cafe express was my natural selection poster which was about 20 bucks and I feel fairly justified in the cost. Like the calenders it took time and effort to make and whoever did it (in this case shid and coomer) deserves a few bucks (I think you could charged a bit more) for their efforts.

Again, your complaining about exactly what you did. And yes your the one who got up and did it, and yes I did not spend days designing custom t-shirts. As I recall you said I was scamming you after a day of having it up. And no, I did not mention test prints when I did it, but I mentioned the 3 things I got and the quality of what I recieved when asked (free of charge). And yes, most of the merchandise was just the logo. Then I explained they were up there to show you what products could be made and customized, but you could purchase them with the logo if you wanted.

I'm not saying that I think what your doing is wrong. I'm not saying that I think the markup to pay for what you had was wrong. I'm not saying that your calendar is not worth $20, and you should use that money to develop something else for the club. I just saying that I think your a hYpocrite.

Tweek, the difference here is that I haven't made a cent off the calendars yet; I'm still in the hole 60 bucks (since I won't get a check for another month) and if anyone returns them after I lower the price, I'll never make that money back.

If you wanted to up the markups on the prices by doing tons of work and getting test prints done and having to pay for that out of your own pocket- none of us; me, coomer, anyone here would have been against that; just like that haven't spoken out against me.

However you marked them up without that, you marked them up to pay for the premium site options- which at the time not only was your site not a premium site (and as such you had almost 3 dollar markup on things that needn't have it) but we didn't need a premium site.

THATS why we ripped at you. You've posted a link to your old thread, but you haven't read it yet.

Your wrong. I explained that it was to pay for the site itself. I explained that the site cost 7 dollars a month, and we would only need 3 things ordered a month at that markup to pay for it. It was a free 15 day trial for a premium site so that we could have multiple designs of the same item on the same site. When the money ran out, the site ran out.

You're wrong in calling me a hypocrite. The money off the calendars currently goes to breaking even. However, you had items on the site marked up more than a dollar. What happened when more than 3 items were sold in a single month? Sounds like straight up profit to me- especially when you just jacked the logo off the site and spent 5 minutes creating a cafepress page.

I know full well you explained in the thread that the money was to pay for the site itself, but we explained to you we didn't need or want a premium site and the markup you were offering; and that all you had done was markup prices on a 72 dpi logo you got off 6gc's main page.

You apparently still haven't read your own thread you linked; because in there I clearly state as such- and so does coomer, and so do others.
