here are some pics of the new Vitz. The interior is pretty sure to be the interior of the car thats going to replace the Echo in toyotas lineup... I actually think it loos really good, especially the inside, for a mini-sized car...

The vitz and the echo are the same car right now. Vitz is just the Japanees name for Echo. Like Fair Lady Z, and 350Z. And they've already modded one, and they said it drove awsome because of it's small size, but it was hard to get much power out of the engine.

Reeks like Scion. But Toyota is really dropping the Echo in favor of the Yaris?

Hmmmph my mom's friend when we lived in belguim had a yaris. If you could get past the fact that it had no horse power it was a great car for gas mileage. They even went about trying to import theirs when they moved back to the us but the engine was classified as a lawn mower engine so mechanics wouldn't work on it. Long story short they got a prius or an echo me thinks.

I highly doubt Toyota will bring in another small car to compete with the Scions. I mean... crap, they killed the Celica in favor of the tC... so it just wouldn't make much sense to have 3-4 small compact econo cars...

Not true, I already read a news story from AIM that Toyota is killing the Echo in favor for a more "euro" influenced SET of cars. Yes, I said set, and the news story said 2. I know that the Echo is the same as a PLATZ, the JDM name for the vitz with a trunk, and this is the next versoin of the vitz (the hatch version)... Thats why I said expect to see this interior in the next car that replaces the echo, seeing as the current car shares its interior between all name variations...

The Yaris is the same as the Vitz(JDM). The new version looks awesome. And Platz and Echo, same thing. Basically, the platz is unpopular all over the world as its really not worth it, just get the corolla. The Vitz though, is a small, highly economical car that has done extremely well sales. And its box shape makes it really roomy in the inside. I love it. My uncle is a used JDM importer and 90% of the vehicles he imports is Vitz.
