well i'm here at work reading this months issue of Modified .. and they have the review of the JGTC Championship.... and in the GT500 the 2nd and 3rd place cars are Supras... running the 3UZ-FE engine (V8 DOHC 32-valve) NA ...

so that go me think... why do so many people flame on the FE head .. if its good enuff for toyota to build and for race teams to use .. granted yes it doesn respond to simple mods like I/E but i think that has more to do with the ECM...

but then again this is just another Mac bored at work post..

Because Toyota only makes V blocks in FE... ;] I'd say it's more that they haven't many other options if they wanted to run big displacement Toyota engines, but it's all about the set-up. In an n/a 4 cylinder... the FE head has very very obvious weaknesses. Since the 3UZ is a V8, they don't need to worry so much about useable power because displacement nullifies that. Also... toyota doesn't build JGTC cars. Those are race team cars and Toyota doesn't have much if anything to do with them. Toyota's race engines are almost always GE heads, namely the 4AGE and 3SG/T/E...
