Which bov, any tips? Options

Fits on the car. Doesn't leak boost.

If you have a MAF, the ECU might not like you dumping to atmosphere.

Definitely get a recirculating BOV. It helps keep the engine running with a good mixture instead of running to rich for a moment. Bad things can happen that way.

are some companies better then others and what would be an example of a recirculating bov. Im not to fimilar with these things.

that "problem" is hyped up alot. looking at the wideband on my car, it doesnt get overly rich.

sure, the bov lets off metered air, but the throttle body is closed. so its not like the air was going into the engine

now if the BOV leaks on a MAS/AFM car, that causes a problem.

RFL is crap.

it only works well at full throttle

then it randomly opens at part throttle/boost

its very loud tho, i might put it on my WRX just to see how loud it is at 17psi

i already have it, and i tried it on my car with the stock tmic worked ok then but when i went fmic i noticed the part throttle/boost problem within 2 miles of driving and took it off.

and i gave a reason for trying it

it was to see how loud it would be now with more boost and the volume of a FMIC setup

Rich for a moment causes what problems? I've been using my bov open atmosphere for over a year without problems.

SSQV gets my vote. Cant leak.

the "sound" of the ssqv is easily adjustable with the interchangable inserts they sell...they go for about 14$ on ebay..im actually thinking about getting the purple insert to have more of a whoosh than the loud whistle, im sure the sound of the silver insert will get old quick..lol

or you can just take the center piece totally out and just get a pssst. more along the lines of a truck bov.

also the sound will change depending on how you have the screw adjusted.

i have noticed that sometimes my car does bog down a little between shifts and i even get some mild backfire. i think it depends on how large your IC and piping is. Supersprynt, reports no problems with his topmount IC, but i notced mine bog down slightly with the fmic and all the extra piping i have.

i have a cheap "monza" one off ebay. its basicly a turboxs knock off but not the rfl.
it would leak at 10psi so i packed the spring more with washers now its fine. it has a Very large woooosh sound. (like a huge toilet flushing ) hah not that bad.
my friend has the RFL on his 3000gt VR4 its really loud but i was talking to the guy at a local tunning shop and he says the rod inside that BOV is really weak and likes to break. i dont know if thats true or not.
My other friend with a WRX really loves his HKS ssqv. i like it but he didnt hook up the vaccum line to it so when the BOV goes off its more of a lfuttering high pitch whistle. very cool. but i dont know if its that great for the turbo.
If i was going to upgrade id like to get the APEXI dual drive. sounds very nice on the gst i heard it on.

Im with nik the Greddy bov but nik you might want to check out there new one ive heard its bad a$$....guys should look into it its the Greddy type RS
