yeah they look green. all i did with my bulbs is painted them (with nail polish) pink! it looks awesome, just make sure you don't get any nail polish on the circuit board by the guages... cause then right when you're done you're just driving and all of a sudden your dash starts smoking!! yeah needless to say i was freaking out... lol

that looks really good.

i tried a few blue bulbs and realized that the only way to get blue is to go with leds. everything else is either to dark or will fade and change color over time.

or you could go with reverse indiglo gauges.

alright, I think I'm just going to get indiglo guages, thats probably the best way to do it..

I'm pretty happy with the color thats there right now sometime I'd like to get the indiglo.

yes, I know it has a lot of miles, but it still runs good and it looks nice biggrin.gif Thats a toyota for you, they go forever according to some of my friends

The interior is in perfect condition. It looks better than alot of newer cars that I've seen.. The mileage is the only bad thing about the car.

Macavely i would like to see your guages post a picture when u can..

hey now, LEDs can be pretty bright (and very saturated with color). mine are at least as bright as the stock bulbs. and nearly as easy (no soldering involved). see my profile for a pic (and product link).

here's the link
http://autolumination.com/194.htm

the picture *is* pretty blurry, my first time using a digital camera, and no tripod for it. but in person it's easy to read.

it seems like with these LED-194-bulb-fabrications polarity matters. (not sure if it does with regular incandescent bulbs or not). but it's pretty easy to sort out. i'm going to write detailed instructions that account for everything i can think of. so don't get intimidated by the slew of words.

this is what i did:

make sure to start the project in the afternoon. so that you're finishing it when the sun is down. and make a mental note of the positions of all the 194 bulb sockets. if you have a garage you can probably skip worrying about sunlight.

when you plug the 3 wire harnesses back into the guage cluster leave it hanging there, and start up the car to see if all 3 light up. if not, leave the car running and leave the lights on, reach around behind the cluster and take out the first LED cluster that doesn't work. then turn it around (so that the positive and negative terminals are reversed from what they just were) and put it back in, it should light up right away. repeat the process for the others if any area of the cluster looks dark.

yeah, worrying about polarity is sorta a pain. but the standard LED benefits are soo worth it:

* energy efficiency (lower current draw for more light output)
* durability
* long life (avg. is like 10 years of continuous use)
* The Color!!!
