So im sitting here writing the word hamburger and i stopped and was like WTF why is it called hamburger. last time i checked it was beef not ham!

i believe it was first created in the town called hamburger. think its in germany. i might be totally wrong tongue.gif

It is thought to have originated in the city of Hamberg, Germany. Originaly called a "Hamberger Steak."

In the 1800s the term dog was used for sausage because the butchers of the time had been accused of using dog meat.

in Muslim and buhddist countries, they call them beefburgers, so as not to confuse people into thinking they are ham.
