does it suck the cd all the way in or does some of it stick out?? if it suck the cd all the way in then they might be something wrong with your lens if thats the problem the just get a whole new unit, if it doesn't go all the way in then it might be you rubber grips. if its that then your going to have to take the thing apart and replace them. That what i had to do to mine last summer. it was a real pain in the A55

Does your head unit display read "no CD" then spit the CD out. If it does its
not focusing, this could be wear or more likely a lens clean is required. If the
CD spits out without a message its more likely the CD isnt being fully
seated in the cradle internally(even though it may have appeared to enter the unit fully).Like Mac says this could be due to mechanical problems, rubber rollers etc, some electrical contact cleaner on the rollers with a swab might work..,

Well, it depends on if it's a CD-R, or CD-RW disc you're trying to play. I've NEVER seen a CD deck that didn't play CD-R's, but I've seen quite a few that won't read CD-RW's. Also, make sure you check the audio format that you burned it with. There are alot of formats that only your computer can read. I went ahead and broke bread for a deck that will play anything, I had some of the same problems you did. Or, there's always minidisc!!

Hey Iceman, I read somewhere you had a Double din Kenwood System like mine, my one maybe a year or so older than your model.
Have you had any problems with your Minidisc player?
My one's starting to spit out the MD, I repaired the CD
after the last attempted theft of the unit, but now the
MD's playing up I'm not looking forward to dismantling it
again( too many pieces).Your system should be pretty
safe in Japan though, theft from cars is pretty dishonourable over there!

i know what the problem is............its broken, replace it. mine played cdr and cdrw but eventually the cd player would only play on one side of the car kinda like the balance was turned all the way to one side. i put in my clarion and never had the problem again. and even if it was the wromg format ive never seen it spit the cd out, it usually just reads all the songs as one long track, but wont play any sound.
