I've been pushing for hardcore engine specs on here for a LONG time. So, with that in mind, I am going to borrow from all over the celica communities and post up the info I have gatherd.

First, I know not about the 5sfe, so if someone has the specs, post em up. Secondly, if any of you guys come accross any problems, let me know and I'll fix it.
Also, anything that you feel should be added... let me know.

A-series: 1.5L, 1.6L and 1.8L, belt-driven overhead cam motors used in Corollas, later Celicas, early Tercels, Chevy Novas (NUMMI-built), and Geo Prizms;

F-series: 3.9L, 4.0L, 4.2L, pushrod straight six engines used in Landcruisers;

R-series: 1.8L/2.4L, overhead cam, chain-driven engines used in rear wheel drive only Coronas, older Celicas and pickups;

M-series: 2.2L through 3.0L overhead cam straight six engines used in Cressidas and Supras;

S-series: 2.0L and 2.2L belt-driven OHC engines used in Camrys, Celicas and MR2s;

VZ-series: 2.5L, 3.0L and 3.4L V6 engines used in Camrys, pickups, Lexus ES and T100s;

UZ-series: 4.0L V8 engines used in the Lexus LS400 and SC400.

ZZ-series: 1.8L I4's found in newer corollas and celicas among others.

JZ-Series: 3.0L I6 found in supra, Lexus Is300 and SC300

nono, if I wanted to buy pistons I would just get toyota hicomp 4ag's. I just have a set of 2zzge 82mm pistons lying around and i was going to try to use them. I just don't know what the compression will be. Since this will be a daily driver, I really dfon't want to get over 10.5:1 max.

Euro 3SGE US version
Engine: 2.0L four/cyl EFI DOHC
Bore: 86mm
Stroke: 86mm
Compression Ratio: 9.2:1
Displacement: 2.0L
Valve Train: 4v/cyl
Horsepower: 135hp@5400rpm (1986-1989)
Torque: 125ftlbs@4800rpm
Models with this engine: 1986-89 GT-S (USA)

USA 3SGE

Engine: 2.0L four/cyl EFI DOHC
Stroke: 86mm
Compression Ratio: 9.8:1
Displacement 2.0L
Valve Train:4v/cyl
HorsePower : 128hp@5600RPM
Torque 179NM@44RPM

why is it that these motors which has a "G" head which is a wider angle head for better air flow, the motor also has higher compression than a 5sfe yet it makes less HP and Torque??

5600-5800 is where power falls off, and falls of fast. anything above 6K rpm is just wasting gas and it sounds terrible.

Wait.

Everyone says that the 1.8 with a stock ECU won't go past 115, but I have been to 128 in fourth. I can video it too.

You can't truely go 128 in fourth gear (and the ecu REALLY is limited to approximately 115/120 mph based on RPM)... not enough rpms nor power. Also... not all speedos are created equally. The faster you go, the less accurate it becomes.

I guess I will have to borrow a GPS unit and charge my camera then.

When my wife bought this car it had a whole lot of aftermarket stuff already.

i agree that speedos are inaccurate for most measurements above 50-60mph... but i used my friend's gps to track my speed in my 94 st and was able to acheive 128mph downhill before the speed limiter kicked in and i know i could of gone faster i still had "about" another 1k rpms to go before redline, i was just a little above 5k and was going downhill.. and i thought that the faster you go with a gps the more accurate it becomes

When my wife bought this car it had a whole lot of aftermarket stuff already.

An easy way to do it... calculate the speed based on rpm and gearing. It'll top out at around 120ish mph in 4th gear at 6500 rpms with 205/60/14 tires... and that's assuming the engine actually has the power to make it there.

VZ is cast iron block.

MZ is newer aluminum block. 3.0 or 3.3. Found in Camry, Avalon, Sienna, Highlander.

R was also a 2.2, and I believe a 2.0.

2UZFE is the 4.7 in the Tundra. There is also a 3UZFE [4.3] in some Lexus models.

JZ is also a 2.5 [1JZ]

GR- 4.0 [1GRFE] in the 4Runner, FJ Cruiser, Tacoma and Tundra, and 3.5 [2GRFE] V6 in the Camry, Avalon and Rav4, plus some Lexus models [also 3GRFE [3.0] in some Lexus].

1AZFE [2.0] in the Rav4, 2AZFE [2.4] in the Camry, Highlander and Rav4.

2RZFE [2.4] and 3RZFE [2.7] in the Tacoma and 4Runner.

2URFE [5.7] in the new Tundra.
