we did this pretty well in my opinion

we ran the pipes so that the flow is 99% even to both sides ( i actually think driver side has more flow goin to it just by a tiny bit but you really can't tell cause the "cold air cloud" comes out even) and without a resonator its actually not that loud its quieter then my single was but i will be installing a res. next saturday thought i'd just drop in a few pics.

and its 2" piping and torque increased a noticable amount

(oh and jdm tails are coming soon too wink.gif
its actually rear end project week so the back looks kinda crappy

the liscense plate will all be hidden with in the bumper i just have to have time to cut the bumper and then reclose it and such thats just temporary

ground clearance is fine

Ditto on the crushed, and dont u have a turbo goin in or am i confused with someone else? 2'' on crushed is like 1.75 at the bends.

its crushed cause its a "bolt on piece" for a different car that for the sake of time we used cause you really can't feel the difference between crush and mendrel as i love mendrel for the looks

actually i didn't do it we did it at a shop my boys work at monroe

and yes i am goin turbo but the exhaust after the DP doesn't matter
its just for looks not functionality

Um...what?

Mandrel is very much better than crush bent because your crushing your piping, so if you crush a 2'' pipe its going to be less than 2''. Not to mention the ripples dont help airflow.

Secondly, YES THE EXHAUST AFTER THE DP MATTERS! Whats the point of having a 2.5'' downpipe and then having it 2'', its going to bottleneck and its almost pointless to have a downpipe.

thats cause i have a better exhaust plan for my turbo so that it dumps out the DP for a better spool and better flow
while still utilizing the stock system for street legal use
so while your pushing your turbo gas through a full 2.25"-3" mendrel bent exhaust killing your spool time

my exhaust will be dumping out a mendrel bent down pipe
which is a lot shorter travel and restriction

I figured I should say something instead of you still thinking what your doing is for better spool and flow. Everything your doing, is hindering spool time and decreasing flow. Crush bent, slows flow, 2'' on a forced induction car, slows flow.

No offense, but ur exhaust plan isnt better, it flat out sucks. Sorry but your seriously misinformed.

thats cause you don't know my Downpipe plans

have you ever heard of butterfly valve?
smart ass

i know that crush bend hinders flow and i know that 2" sucks for F/I
and if i wanted to build an exaust system for a turbo car then it wouldn't be a dual exhaust either, oh and if i was building it for turbo i wouldn't keep my stock cat on now would i? but its ALL staying just the way it is

dual exhaust = show not go

custom downpipe that will negate a full exhaust = priceless

gotta love modern technology
its already made for use on turbo cars just hasn't been applied to a celica yet

Ok...I see what ur saying, however I dont have a cat mines 3'' straight back.

So your going to be running basically an open downpipe....

Granted it will be straight and short, it'll be hella loud. I dont know how long your actually going to run that its going to be pretty obnoxious. I would never wanna run open downpipe like that its just so loud.

OH and dont put words in peoples mouths.

And 3'' isnt killing spool time, your spool time will be neglegabley faster. That website seems to only make 2.5'' and yes you'll have a nice spool and power with no exhaust its going to be small vs. 3''.

it will be loud and highly effective when the butterfly valve is open

but you can close it and use the full exhaust which is more restrictive
and quiet for street use at low boost

open valve = high boost = open downpipe
closed valve = low boost = full restrictive exhaust

(and i know you have no cat i just put it in the ill as an example)

its going to be crazy loud at WOT. i ran open DP for a bit. couldnt tell any difference between open and an my 2.5 mandrel bent, high flow cat exhaust system except one was much louders and sounded like a huge exhaust leak. speed and spool wise i couldnt tell.

it will be crazy loud but that doesn't matter at a drag strip

but on the street it will be closed and quiet
