QUOTE(97lestyousay @ Aug 1, 2005 - 4:01 AM) I've run the same road many times and always run into an Acura. The first time it was an NSX and the guy was a P**sy because he backed out at like 90 and took the 50 mph corner at 55 or so. Tonight it was an RSX I passed him at 80 or so, he tried to catch up but by then I was at like 105. If you are going to run it run it hard. OH they are just glorified Hondas anyway. Both of them could have beat me if they just had more kahonas. This is a back road with no traffic so take it easy with the whole street race jib jab. I'm a safe driver ask Nat. Don't **** up and get into an accident, that'd just be another Celica destroyed because someone decided they wanted to be fast and furious. |

I dont know what to say ... maybe they just don't want to race... its like when i had my bike and someone one would rev at me when stop at a light... i would look over and just laugh and let them take off.. cause laughing and riding just is not safe.... then i would wait till they where like 50 cars infront of me and then pass them like they where standing still .... aww i miss those days ..

I'd say let him be, if he's old enough to have a license, he's old enough to know right from wrong and make his own decisions. I'd say a few words but 5+ posters already said a few words so no need for me to say anything.

Yes he should have the knowledge of what is right and wrong but choosing to utilize that knowledge is another story.

First off, they don't handle all that well.
2nd- Those cars who beat you like a red headed step child. 3rd- Why are you trying to act hard and bragging about racing faster cars on the street? Go to a track and have a real race. -------------------- NASA/SCCA RX-7....currently under the knife

NSX is faster than a 6GC in every category
nuff said. btw, screw up at the speed limit, you can still save the car or not get hurt, screw up at double the limit, the car is gone, and you might not fair so well. -------------------- 1994 Celica GT4 WRC Edition

yeah the crappy thing is.....if you break loose taking a turn at 90, there really isint a whole lot u can to do recover... so the moment you learn the limits of your car, it will be too late.

I just totaled my Celi doing 55 or something in a corner (the speed limit at that place was like.. 50-55. The Celi is a good handler, but you never know. Sh*t happens, and if you are racing at that time, thinking you and/or the car is like Superman or something, you end up dead. Or worse.
I could get out of my car in one piece, with hardly any damage AT ALL. Car even flipped over and landed 20 feet away from the road, on it's roof. (check other post for details). My point is.. I survived a crash that should have killed me. If I had been racing at the time, I wouldn't be here today. You should start to respect the roads and the speed limit a bit more. Atleast when corners are involved. I break speed limit all the time on straight aways, but if the weather is bad, snow, ice, rain or alot of wind. I'm really careful. And messing with corners.. Bad idea! I really think the guys in NSX or RSX or whatever respected the road and situation a bit more than you, nothing else. On a track, ok.. But on the road/street/highway or whatever.. There is nothing called chickening out, really.. In my book. Because as soon as you step into a car, you are risking your life. When you break speed limit and starts to race, your chances of survival is reduced by alot, IF or WHEN something happens. I have had my share of street races, but NEVER on twisty roads or around corners. It's not safe on a straight away either, because a little bump is all you need anyway, but the chances to mess up in a corner is alot bigger than on a straight away. It's really up to how big a risk you are willing to take. -------------------- |
