some of my friends have been running wires to a switch that can manually turn on the fan that cools your engine. i was just wondering if this will effect everyday driving in my celica. i want a faster car, but i don't want everything to be ruined. so if anybody has any idea what i'm talking about any feedback will be helpful.

it wont make your car any faster or better. if anything you will probably mess up the relay that makes the fans kick on when the radiator needs cooling...and do more harm then good. i wouldnt mess with it

A friend of mine set one up because they were having some serious problems with a cars electronics. Just make sure you run it, and watch your temp gauge..

I have a manual switch for my fans. The fans are wired directly to a Bosch relay that's wired to my switch which can only be on when the ignition is on. I also have a DEI 528t timer relay that's wired to constant power so that any time I push a pushbutton switch on my switch panel is turns on the fans for about 45 seconds.

i'm mildly 'under the hood' retarded, so i don't want to splice wires left and right and then have some huge problem with this all, so i guess i won't bother with it. i already have a switch installed by the fuses under my steering wheel, so i guess i can wire a interior neon kit to that. gotta get some use out of it i guess.

What inspired you to wire them manually? Did you have to do it because of your swap? Do your fans still have the temperature relay that turns them on when it gets hot enough (So the switches would be like an override) or are they on all the time when the switch is on? That pushbutton thing is neat. Is that something you use after extreme acceleration or something?

I feel like I just asked a billion question lol
