So I originally had manual windows, which one of the 7 previous owners did a power window swap on it. Since I got the car the driver side makes a clickity noise as it rolls up and down, which I am saying is one of the little guider things is broken.. but recently my passenger side went into the crapper.
it started out with one of my dumb friends getting in and slamming the door... hard. That knocked something loose inside.. not sure what it is though. When you open or close the door you can feel and hear something hitting the padded area next to the inside door handle.. Then the motor started making wierd noises. Now when I roll it down it gets halfway and stops, makes the nastiest clunk you have ever heard, and then continues.. also does the same on the way up. What do you think I should do? Take it to a shop to fix.. or take the door apart and try to fix it myself? -------------------- 1991 MR2 - T-tops - Crimson Red - Gen3 3SGTE - Lots of money

it is easy to just take out the door panel and have a look first. go all around the door , unscrew every screw u see and push pins. then a few more on the door panels itself. Remember the recessed one on the handle.
after that just lift the panel up and out.If it resists, it means you have left a screw somewhere. You would need to disconnect a wire on the bottom corner. Hope this helps. |
