ok my questions are if i were to get a a 3sgte for a celica gt would i have to change the tranny or could i use the gt one(would i have to build up the clutch or mist. parts of tranny), also what options do i have if i do have to change trannys....

and another question is it possible to do a full gt-4 conversion in a convertable, if so how different is it from a hatch, etc. and what is needed or done differently, if not possible please explain what is preventing someone from doing this

i currently don't have a 6gc since mine wasw totaled awhile back but i am planing on getting one and when i do i have been thinking of swaping so i was wondering if getting a convert. is limiting myself to what i can do. and if anyone has any suggestions to what to get or what i should do would be appreciated

you can use the orginal gt transmissoin for the 3sgte engine. But the best combination would be the turbo Mr2 transmission.

what do you mean full gt4 conversion? AWD

well either way, if you want to do an AWD conversion you will need to do alot of cutting of the frame. SO it would be better to do it on a hatchback or coupe.

please search before you get flamed

No need for any flaming.

Hanyo covered it. You can't convert it to AWD.

oh no here we go again... tongue.gif

AWD celica GT applies to the "anything is possible with enough money" rule... it CAN be done but at that cost your better off finiding a loop hole in importing a GT4. which is also not possible according to everyone ive asked. anyways the MR2 tranny with LSD (E153) will be your best bet for a FWD tranny but if one a time/price crunch the GT tranny will hold up to SOME abuse think of it as a temp fix. hope this help if not PM me or any of the other 3s swappers here.

I've been using my GT tranny for almost a year now... 128,000 on it and it's still kicking... I'm definately not easy on it either.

heres a crazy idea... im not a tranny guy so i have no clue but can a LSD be fitted to the GT tranny? or is it so weak compared to the Mr2 option that people dont spend the money? just a thought.

oh yeah and do you have some vids of your car on the road? maybe a couple pulls so i can get the feel for how it will handle? biggrin.gif

the stock GT tranny can be used with 2nd gen 3sgte but with the 3rd gen 3sgte...the mr2t tranny is recommended (can handle better the power)
