This will probably fail but the savings are significant so I thought I would post it up.

I am going to be buying a Rotora Big Brake Kit which retails for $1395. I spoke with Rotora today and they indicated that they would do a 20% discount if we could get a group buy of 5 people. Total price would be $1116 plus shipping. The shipping price quoted to me from California to Illinois was approximately $50.

Slotted and Cross Drilled Rotors, 4 piston calipers, stainless braided lines, etc. The calipers come in Red or Blue. You must have at least 17" wheels. Here is some more information:

Rotora Big Brake Kit

Deadline is Halloween.

Post if you are in.

i know your trying to do the right thing for your motor, but this is one of those times where you should just trust the guys who have had their swaps for a while and have done a ton of research into this.

I know this isn't really what you want to hear, but I am very interested but don't have a job right now. I just graduated from college and am currently looking for one. If this thing gets put off for a little while and I get a job soon then I would really like to get in on this, but by no means wait for me. Good luck finding some people and I'll let you know if I can get in.

I doubt we will get 5 people but I just wanted to see what would happen. This upgrade is going to come at the same time as my new turbo because I feel like I am maxing out the GT brakes already.

For those that are interested, I know of 4 big brake kits for the 7th gen celicas which reportedly work for our cars. They are:

1. Brembo - $2200
2. Stoptech - $1900
3. TRD - $2200 (reportedly made by Stoptech)
4. Rotora - $1395.

The Rotoras have a one piece rotor / cap while the others have two piece units. The biggest advantage of a two piece is that its cheaper to buy a new rotor later on when it needs to be replaced. Quite frankly, I won't have my car that long so the cheaper solution seems like a better alternative to me.

This will be open to see if anyone else might want to get in. What about the other folks that are building monster motors? Nik?, Defgeph?, Baddica?....have you guys should be considering these babies?

I am not buying them right away anyway....but you know how long these group buys take. If we don't have 5 people by November 1, I am buying them seperately. Maybe we can get some kind of discount even if we have less than 5.

Deadline for this group buy will be Halloween.

One thing I want to mention. These BBK's are for the 7th gen. No one to my knowledge has put these on a 6th gen. I am taking on faith that they will fit based on this thread:

7th Gen BBK Thread

Spedtoe169 was the one in the thread that made the representations that the 7th gen BBK's would work. Although he doesn't post here anymore, he generally knows his stuff. He continues to post on Celicatech.com.

I plan to confirm with Rotora that they will accept a return if they don't work out.

There is no BBK for the 6th gen. No power = No aftermarket BBK due to no need.
