Rear Seat Mod, installing the humps Options

Need a little wisdom from the Interior Guru's here. I just bought 2 Kicker Comp VR 15's and the box they're in doesn't sit right in my trunk. I'm thinking about taking out my rear seats and installing my subs and amp facing the driver in a custom wall. Has anybody else done anything like this, if not in their Celi, than any car?? What's the best material to make the backing out of?? What the best way to seal the rear of it off??

i don't know about what you should make the wall out of...aluminum would be tight...hehe...but um...just from a little bit of experience, you are not gonna get nearly as good of a sound if you do that as you would if you had the speakers in the trunk/hatch facing the rear of the car...that way, the whole hatch is used as a banpass type enclosure, and as the bass hits the rear of the car and reverberates(sp?) back, it is magnified...also, i noticed that the rear-facing also cuts down on noise that the sub may make from occasional bottoming out and what not.
um...maybe you could sort of angle the two in the back or something...or, make a custom hatch enclosure, that would be my first step, but i dunno how often you use the back seats, cause you need to be damn sure you won't need them again.

I knew a kid who had a sixth gen hatch and he took out his backseat and used a huge enclosure, and put one Kenwood DB+ 12 behind each headrest. He used mdf for the box and amp rack and made a little window for amp rack out of plexiglass. It hit pretty hard and looked pretty good, but his subs always did hit harder when he had his regular box enclosure in the trunk like mynzeyes mentioned.

You do have a coupe though, right? If so, then it may hit harder and sound better with the subs being in the cabin rather than the trunk, because there won't be a rear deck and back seats in the way to rattle and block some of the sound.

Thanks for the idea Mynz!! Ha, I really never use my back seat anyway cuz I'm 6'1....so if there is anybody in my back seat, they're not happy.
What I was thinking of doing, was making the wall (would aluminum really hold up??) like a V shape with the point facing the front, and then installing the 15's kinda facing each other. I gotta do something with it because the box they're in is stinkin huge and I'd have to shave parts outta my trunk anyway. Feel free to comment on my mission.

i kind of did something similar....i have four kicker comps in a custom box taking up my entire trunk...therefore i needed some place to put my amps...so instead of taking the seats out, u can just fold them down,,, what i did was make a custom amp holder for both my amps, one on each seat...it looks really good and i'd highly recommend it

I did this also for my 1st system and this does work really good... the backs of the seats make a good ledge for setting stuff on too.... and are you really ever gonna use those seats newayz? there just there for insurence reasons..
