I want somethign nice, but not to expensive. any input on brands and modles. Thanks

It all depends on what you like to play. That comes in two different directions too. The type of music and feel of guitar. If you haven't gotten to the point yet that you know what your style is, I wouldn't recomend getting a really nice guitar. You just have to go to different guitar/music shops and try things out. Do you like a twangy sound were the high notes hit harder, or were lower notes hit harder? Or do you want it even. Takamine was a brand I was looking at when I bought my last guitar, they play very smooth. And that's good if you have someone else to play with, and you can play lead sometimes. If your looking for a good back up, or signal person guitar, you'll want something with higher action that sounds clearer. I had a Johnson for a good 3 years. I loved that guitar. It went out of tune more than it should have, but it was really nice. It broke on me, otherwise I'd still play it instead of my martin. If you have to have an anser, I'd have to say a fender. I have a fender 12 sting and it's a damn good guitar. I'm trying to trade it for a nice mandolin right now though. I'll probably just by a mandolin, because I dont' think I can part with her. If you have any questions, give me a yell.

Im not a reg. guitar player, I play bass, but I believe that if you like the guitar then you should get it, cost aside. I have a 4 string Fender jazz bass, a 5 string ESP B205, and a Oscar Schmidtt acoustic 4 string. To be completely honest I think Fender guitars are overrated. I know people who will swear by them, and I know people who would trade it in for anything else. Are you looking for an electric or acoustic? Some of the higher-end ESP guitars have string locks, so they cannot go out of tune no matter how hard you use the whammy or pull on them. If you are looking for something that looks real good then maybe a Schecter C-1, they have rosevine inlays all the way up the neck. If you like the lows, then maybe a 7 string guitar (added a low B, like the 5 string bass) then maybe the schecter Omen.

I guess before I can really pick something out of all the guitars I need to know what it is you like to:

play (metal, classical ect.)
crisp notes, or soft notes
electric or acoustic (or electric acoustic like Ibanez)

I have an ESP LTD B205FM 5 string in "see-thru black"
I have an Oscar Schmidtt 4 string Acoustic/electric bass
I have a Fender Jazz bass in metallic red

Guitars are sexy, thats just how it is. And its nice to be able to sit down and play something nice and quiet and take your mind off of other things.

lookat a Gibson SG. There are some for around $500 OR $600 dollars. They are a great playing guitar.

Are you looking for an Acoustic guitar or Electric?

Heres what I have.
