For those of you that have seen this car on 6GC. You know it came from the dead. For the past two months my daughter and I have been building this car and it's almost ready for the road. Now for the bad part, this car has a "Salvage" title. I'm going to have to get it changed to a "Clean or Rebuilt" title, so I can get a tag. I need to know if ANYONE out there has both air bags that I can buy, loan or rent so I can get this car inspected and get a tag for it. I do not plan on keeping the air bags after the car is inspected.
In the state of Alabama, to have a car inspected and have the title changed. You 1st must have a rebuilder licenses. a $10,000 bond and a blanket liability insurance coverage.
I,m work on getting all of this. A bunch of bulls--t to stop individuals from rebuilding good cars. If it doesn't work out, I'll just part this car out or sale as salvage and I know my daughter doesn't want to see that. PLEASE HELP THANKS. Ü

there are ways around that.

register the car in another state, and later register the car back in alabama.

YOu need to check alabama law and see if you can register a salvage title car.

there are loop holes in the system. you just have to find it.

The poor celica is still setting in the driveway. Still have not had no luck on the title. If I don't get the title changed I'm going to part it out or sale complete.

i am not sure about where you live but i know in ohio you do not need the air bags recharged,or any other stuff like a bond , you do have to have insurance on it,i know this because my celica was once in the grave yard. i also resalvage cars as a hobby , my good freind also owns a salvage yard( i get all my hobby cars there for cheap) if you have any ? just ask and i will try to help wink.gif

ok i think im wrong but here goes.. if ur car is going for a salvage title then u cant have anythign but OEM or it will all fail and u would lose everything u did and they take everythign that doesnt pass inspection, if the car has a salvage title already then ur fine with the aftermarket i believe, however idk since ur going for a clean title now?
