Hey all,
I've decided to start offering wiring harness conversions. I was nervous about doing them before without having the car here, but this past week I did one (3SGTE into an ST) and it went REALLY smooth. I figure that $350 including shipping the completed harness back and all wiring supplies is a fair price. To do a conversion I need your stock harness and the harness from the engine. I don't include extending the harness since that's simple to do if you choose to (although I'm working on a technique so that you don't have to). Turnaround time is about a week but I can do it quicker if need be. Also another note, if you happen to have gotten an engine set with a cut harness, I can repair and rebuild it for you. It'll cost extra though drtweak@phoenixtuning.com -Doc This post has been edited by Dr_Tweak: Oct 22, 2005 - 12:20 AM -------------------- -Dr Tweak, 6GC's resident engine swap wiring expert extraordinaire Click here to see my swaps drtweak@phoenixtuning.com |

Are you going to also give use extra copys of manuals to help us and garantee your work? What type of connections? Seems like your a great person to work with and you know your ****, but what if something does get f-ed up, or backwards or down the road falls apart? Also does this mean, sence you are charging to do it, you wont help people with questions when there doing it them selves? This post has been edited by Digndoug: Oct 22, 2005 - 8:47 AM |

The work is garanteed, so if there's a problem, I'll either help you fix it remotely or you can send it back to be fixed for no charge. All the joins are soldered and shrinkwrapped, or if possible repinned at the connector. Once I pony up the cash for a quality racheting crimper and a set of industrial crimps, I'll be switching over to them. (That's how the REALLY high-end shops do their wiring, I guess it's more reliable than even soldering. These are special tools that cost quite a bit, NOT your Pep-boys crimper/stripper tool and insulated connectors. Just to be clear.) I run a shop that will hopefully be going fulltime in the near future, so I'll be here to help if and when you have problems with your car. I spend a lot of time helping people out for free (rjb23, the guy from Kentucky can vouch for that), and as long as I have time I enjoy helping fellow Toyota enthusiests out. But I'm not going to teach you how to do it for free, no, and eventually (when I do go fulltime with this) I probably won't have the time that I do now to chill out on the forums and help people out. -Doc This post has been edited by Dr_Tweak: Oct 22, 2005 - 2:45 PM -------------------- -Dr Tweak, 6GC's resident engine swap wiring expert extraordinaire Click here to see my swaps drtweak@phoenixtuning.com |

Dr. First of all, no need to be a Dick about it. Sorry i cant spell nor type. Deal with it. There has been problems in the past with someone making bad harnesses and not helping and people getting screwed. Theres no reason to post this, because I did not ask you, i asked the Doc. Thanks Doc for the info.. If I decide to swap, I might be contacting you soon. Also, how much would/ do you charge for the whole swap? and what all does that include If you dont mind me asking. Thanks Doug |

Thanks Doug I see you have an ST, is it auto or manual, do you want to use the E153 or the GT tranny, and do you want a FMIC setup? To answer in advance: 3SGTE swap in ST: $1000 Add auto/manual conversion: $200 Add FMIC setup: $200 Of course that's just labor.
