What you thoughts about 2nd gen 3sgte and 3gen 3sge with turbo(let say ct20b). Its not about the price I just want to know your opinions about it. Will 3rd 3sge turbo(without AFM and other crap that 2nd gen 3sgte has) feels livery. At the end you can have 3rd 3sgte. Please, feel free to join the thread.

Both are excellent engines....I'm sure the 3rd gen 3SGE would feel very lively when turbocharged, however that would probably be the result of its factory N/A tune with higher compression and more aggressive response. However, whos to say whether this would be an advantage or just make for a really squirrely set-up that was touchy with limited potential for power over a 2nd gen. 3SGTE? At the same time, who's to say its not superior with without trying it??

My opinion is that if interest lies in turbocharging the motor from the begining, why not use a motor that was built for it from the factory and designed to do just that reliably and with room to upgrade from the aftermarket? Plus a 3rd gen 3SGTE motor is a common upgrade with the MR2 and will yield plenty of power and I'm sure is well documented also.

Let me also mention that I've read a lot of articles that claim the 3SGE's N/A linear power delivery in an MR2 is out of this world....perhaps even superior to it's turbo counterpart. I would get a JDM MR2 clip with the Beams motor if i felt the need to upgrade in anyway. So the real question you have to ask is whether you prefer turbo power or all motor power. wink.gif
