okay booyz.....lets get togeather here and solve this problem. I own a 94 st...i'll be doing a 5s swap in a few months or so. After that comes the turbo....shooting for 200whp or so. When thats all said and done im looking to drop in a 6 speed box. I dont want any honda out there to have a chance!
soooo....i was talking to my cousin and he said he didnt know of one that would fit...he said there is one for the gts corolla...also the matrix comes with one. Is there a known way to get any of these to work? Does any one else make a complete aftermarket box? I take this very seriously and i am willing to spend 1000 or so on this...i think it would be well worth it. What you guys got for me? |

to my knowledge this has never been done on a 6gc, but with money and time anything is possible.... You're going to have to be a pioneer on this one if you do try it

I suggest to go with the Toyota Solora. I believe it comes in 6speed....But never heard of anyone doing this before....and dont think the motor will fit in the chassis...

might just be imagining this.. but didn't TRD ( at some point in time ) offer an aftermarket six-speed transmission for GT sixth generation celica's. I could have sworn i heard about it when it was out, and a couple of guys even claimed to have it. I might just be making it up to please my own little brain though... hmm

You might have to cut a few pieces and wield / drill holes to make it work. The 5spd on the silvertop is like completely smaller than the one on the celica. I can post some pics later. I think they are smaller though. |

Is there any advantages by booting a st over a gt? back to the 6speed...i can't belive toyota left us hanging like this....how come the corolla gets a 6 speeds and not us...thats madness!!!! there has got to be a company some where that will make this thing! |

![]() the only advantage to the 5sfe over the 7afe is the displacement the gt is 0.4 liters bigger and like 20 more horse they both are easy to turbo for the gt just get all the 3sgte parts and bolt them on. the 7afe well just go look at my how to for what parts you need. back to your 6 speed dream the the easest way is like i said the blacktop 20v 6 speed bolted to your 7afe or just get the BLACK TOP 20v with the tranny. Your swaping anyways that is by far the easiest way to get a better motor and a 6 speed -------------------- yea your 3sgte is cool but ill stick to my 7agte

i see what you're saying monster....but i want to have something that no one else has. and that 6 speed on a 7afe will damn sure do it. i think thats a huge part of owning a celica...you just dont see them everyday...so im trying to have something that stands out even more.

A 6 speed transmission isn't going to transform your car. It'll give you a much lower gear for highway cruising, however then you're left with 5 other shorter gears where cars with longer gears could, potentially, out-pull your car by not having to shift as frequently.
Personally I would focus on using this money you want to use on the 6spd towards an even better, more powerful and reliable motor setup with your standard 5spd transmission. You'll probably be happier this way. ![]() -------------------- 3rd gen ST205 3SGTE - Alive and boosting. |
