yea my drivers side door is getting pretty bad. my body shop mechanic told me to buy a new door but im giong to try to fix it myself.

Get rust remover and a brush and try to remove all of the rust you see. then patch up the holes that are remaining (not exactly sure how to do that yet).

the drainage on the doors of our celicas was overlooked and not designed properly.

i had rust on the bottom of my doors on the inside, the tabs were rotting out a bit. I got the guys at the body shop near by to grind em down, put some new welds in, ground it down again to make it smooth and shot some paint on it. I got it done while i had my car repainted. They said it cost around $50 in labour for both doors minus paint. So ur probably lookin..$200 cuz of paint cuz they actually have 2 take the door off n apart.

You guys have this rust on the bottom of your doors? I've never had any problem with rust on my car, and she has 184,xxx miles on her. Of course, every time that I clean her, I wipe the doors down on the inside as well (including the bottom of the doors).

thats exactly what mine was like. A body shop can get that fixed for u easily. and for Verde97, im also in Canada dude. We have snow 4 months of th year essentialy, n we get a crap load of rain. Only way u can keep a car up here rust free is if u keep it indoors when ur not driving it, undercoated every 4 or 5 months, and u wash the under side of ur car every day.
