In Washington this year there was a law passed saying that no one may smoke within 25 feet of a public establishment. (I.E 25 feet away from Doors, Windows, AC units, Taxi's, Busses ect.)
I don't smoke, but I just wanted to see how everyone else is, because I know a lot of people around here are b*tching and moaning about having to walk a little farther outside to light up.. -------------------- 1991 MR2 - T-tops - Crimson Red - Gen3 3SGTE - Lots of money

we have a similar law here, think its 100 feet though. its kind of nice now to go bowling and be able to breathe. smoking in public isnt a right. is it just me or has smoking really phased out from being "cool". everybody i know thinks its disgusting.

It's somewhere around 80% of people in B.C. are non-smokers. Tobacco isn't cool anymore.
Now if people could figure out that marijuana smoke isn't any cleaner, that would be good. It may not be a particularly bad drug (anything that makes you drive and react with the speed of a 95-year-old is not all good) but smoke inhalation is considered a firefighter's job hazard for a reason. im kinda glad its banned! my parents smoke and hopefully this will get them to stop! not that my mom leaves the house! but i mean i dont really care if im around it or not but i want my parents healthy!

I do, started at 18..... and DAMN i cant quit.... Tryed 3 times, holded for a week, but once i took a cup of coffe - it all came back.... DAMN....

I only smoke when Im hanging out with friends or at a party. I really can't see why smokers are so addicted to it tho. I smoked a whole pack at a party once, and Im fine. I didn't get addicted to it, but damn now my lips are so dry! I guess, the dry lips and the taste for something is what drives people insane for Cigs.
I suggest that everytime you get the cravings suck on a lemon or some super sour candy. It will knock your cravings off. |

Wish we had a law like that here. When I walk out of the building at college I cant breathe. People feel the need to smoke right outside the doors. Its rediculous.

my whole family smokes but ive never even tried a cigarette in my life and i dont plan on it! i dont mind being around smokers though. I just get irritated with cigar smoke cuz its such an awful smell! but i mean they should leave it up to bars and bowling alleys whether they wanna be smoke free or not because when you go to those places you should just expect that it will be smokey!

I dont really buy into that. Nobody knows how long someones going to live in the first place so how can you say oh its 7mins for ever person? Cigs are just bad for you, and everyone knows it. I think ur stupid for smoking them but hey, its America, do w/e u wanna do but dont bitch about people banning it in restaurants and **** cuz I dont wanna smell it.
