Hey guys I was just wondering what kind of bulbs rather then led 194 bulbs can you use , because I heard polarg 194 bulbs shows up pretty good and Apc makes a super blue 194 bulbs so does eurolite. Would you know if both brands can be trustable. thanks

The question is . . .
are LEDs better, or blue bulbs like ZR^^uses . . . ? . . . i have had trouble with LEDs b/c they don't spread the light very well . . . any suggs? I'm thinking of just going to blue bulbs for the "even" look . . . ? . . . ZR, can you get those type of bulbs from local auto part stores? . . . or would i have to order them from Japan (like you did)? ~snap -------------------- Past: V6 Swapped 6G Celica, E46 BMW M3, Jeep Wrangler TJ

I got mine from a car accessories shop here in Sydney.
I'm sure you can find them around where you lived. But beware they are quite expensive. -------------------- ![]() 98 ST204 ZR - Black Beauty - Roaming the streets of Sydney 73 TA22 LT - Tiffany Blue - Mint Classic Weekend Cruiser 75 TA22 LT - Snow White - Mint Classic Weekend Cruiser 77 RA28 LT - Flubber Green - Mint Classic Weekend Cruiser 94 MX-5 NA8 Clubman - Red Racer - Looking for corners WIP Project: 69 RT40 Corona, 2nd WIP Project: 66 RT40 1600s Corona 86 Corona RT142 - Daily Driver 6GC 4 Life Baby!!! |

5 LED "matrix" bulbs are the best for a nice deep true blue color. The Polarg bulbs are nice but in my opinion look like they're right in between blue and white. I have 3 of the 5 LED 194s in my cluster and have absolutely no complaints.

Sorry, that is a bit confusing isn't it? There are 5 total LEDs on each replacement 194 bulb, so there are 3 bulbs with 5 LEDs each... here is an example:

so you just used those in place of the 3 in the back of the CC unit ? The ones I used are too bright and shine forward too much. Do these solve that and spread more evenly ?

I will get some of the ones you got and give them a try. -------------------- |

Oops. I was in a hurry when I read your post... I used 3 in the guage cluster. I only used one in the CC unit right in the middle. The rest of the CC unit was lit with individual LEDs. I'm in the process of redoing mine so I can get some pics for you if you'd like.

I just use colored factory replacement amber bulbs. Had no problem with the brightness, more than enough. Don't want it too bright. It might throw off the rest of colors of the cc unit.
