So with my obession to make the 4age rev all the way to the 11K RPM line... I've decided that it was to costly and time consuming to find all the right parts to make it work for the celica. Thus, with bills to pay and the rising gas prices. Ive decided to just buy a Kawasaki Ninja-250R THAT could rev all the way to the 13K RPM. So far im in the process in buying a reliable type of transportation and make the celica into a project car instead...or sell it. Either way, I'll need something that is a daily for winter time and a daily for summer time. What do you guys think? I got bills to pay now, insurance to worry about and more bills. So with my budget The celica has to become a project cause its unreliable with it breaking now and then. I will be left with out a transportation.
I know that with the bike its more medical bills, so I'll just have to drive it granny style. Don't flame me, cause I ain't one of you rich boys who could have both and yet have enough to do what you want with them. Coments? Questions? |

Nice. I was thinking about getting one of those or the 500cc. Very light bikes, 55-60mpg, 250cc, and cheap price. You might also want to look at th 500cc Ninja's too. They're not much more expensive and are nice as well.

Theres practically no Snow down here in AR. Anyways, Bike for summer and during those colder months. A cheap car that will last untill spring or warmer weather again. Im thinking about fixing my engine on the 5sfe camry. The bike is just cheap enough to maintain and pay off while at the same time a good gas saver.

Seriously now... you gotta think practically about an 11K daily driver. Our shop has built a couple 10K B16B's and even they were BARELY streetable. This is WITH VTEC crossover... so the chances of someone building a streetable 11K toyota engine with no crossover... slim to none. No point in revving a street car that high. Then we come to the parts... TRD/Carillo rods (600-800 dollars), mahle or equilvalent forged slugs (500-1500 dollars), FA crank ($$$$), camshafts (500-1000 dollars), rebuild ($$$$)...
Granted the stock 20V rods can hold up to 9K or so with better rod bolts... but there really is no point in revving unless you have the capability to make power. Capability comes with a HUGE price tag... especially in the 4AG's case. However... if you want a bike... go for it. I'd check with the ins co first, some of them wont insure ANY size "ninja-type" bike, but for some reason though, they will insure a "standard", naked street bike, which is practically the same machine without all the fancy bodywork. And lets face it, a 250 isnt going to really need the aerodynamics. Might save a bunch on the bike and the insurance.
