ok so i have been running 7 psi for the past few months in my 7afte and every thing has been fine accept for a little oil burning off but its no big deal. so the other day i go to get in my car and pull out of my drive way and notice a HUGE difference. i look down at my boost guage and see that iam running 12 PSI. so i was like ok, this is kool and left it alone. that was two days ago and today i go to drive it after not touching anything and notice that iam running 0PSI. i checked the intercooler piping, waste gate and MBC and everything is fine. the turbo also sounds different, it has a more high pitched whistle to it and sounds more like a supercharger...weird... any idea whats going on??

bov? even though that wouldnt explain why the 12 all of a sudden. id just check all the vac tubes, maybe take out the mbc to see if that does anything. check the connection to the back of the boost guage (i assume you feel no boost as well?) i think that if you can hear your turbo spool you probably have a loose connection somewhere in either the ic piping or vac tube.

you may need a rebuild or to have someone atleast take it apart and look at it.

There is a vacuum leak somewhere....might be simple and inexpensive....could be bad. Check out this thread for a way to find it:

$30 boost leak tester

i know your trying to do the right thing for your motor, but this is one of those times where you should just trust the guys who have had their swaps for a while and have done a ton of research into this.

ok, so the problem was that the screw to make the BOV harder and softer fell out so the BOV was fully open and was letting all the air out frown.gif but i allso saw that one of the blades to the turbo has a major chip in it. the shaft isnt loose or anything but the chiped blade is bothering me.
