guys do anybody knows the symtoms of a bad or a damaged air flow meter???

Its really tough to say, but you can test it out this way. With the airfilter removed and the flap visible. Push on the flap when the engine is running and see if the engine chokes. If it chokes then its either still working or if it don't choke its bad. Your 2nd step is to use a voltimeter, but thats kinda hard to play with.

basically i have the following problem..when my car reaches normal temperatures the rpms are playing up and down and after a while it switches off.
do anybody knows what is the problem? thx

Sounds like a bad AFM... but you don't have an AFM... you have a MAF. Pretty much the same thing... minus the flapper. Could also be a bad CTS that triggers the ecu to kill the engine...

hmm i think it is a bad maf. in diagnosis i get the following error: air intake circuit. is it the flow meter or something with the wires?

you have a 3s-ge motor, right? i dont know too much about them, but it does sound like it could be the maf/afm (whatever one comes with your car). check to make sure that the piping from the meter to the cars throttle body is air tight and that it dosnt have any cracks in the rubber intake pipe. if all of that checks out, see if you can find a toyota repair manual for the 3sge motor. i know that in the 3sgTe one, they have tests you can perform, with a multimeter, to help determin if the meter is working correctly or not.
