ever since ive installed my spring/shocks combo....the mechanic told me i need to change the shock mount on my driver side....he said itll make a metal to metal contact sound.....ive been neglecting it for so long..n finally its driving me crazy....i need to kno how u guys changed a shock mount n how much work would it be to get one put in...????? confused.gif

i could follow the how-to to get the shock out...but is the mount a plug n play-ish thing?....

not too hard actually.. they are plug n play.

after removing your wheel
-remove your brake caliper for more room to work with
-then remove the 2 lower bolts holding the bottom of the struts to the hub
-then remove the 3 upper bolts that hold the strut mount to the chassis. you should now be able to remove the entire strut assembly.

-compress the springs with spring compressors and remove the top center bolt that hold the shock to the strut mount. and that's it. now put the new one in and grease it up, and put everything back together.

total time would probably be 30 mins each if you don't run into minor problems along the way.

Good how-to on redoing the suspension. It's for an MR2, but other than torque specs and the fact our rear struts aren't rebuildable (depending on year/trim) it's the same.
