So, as most of you know, i got rear ended in mid june last year. The result was this

witch led to this

witch led to me gettin a full paint job

any ways, so i have been having problems with these guys since day 1. The garage who did the repair, also happens to own the tow truck company who picked up my car. So pretty much, b4 we could say "i want to take my car to this body shop" they brought my car to theirs. So, i was kinda pissed at that. But, i needed it fixed, i was hurt and wasnt plannin on drivin it for awhile (got wicked whiplash that im still feeling almost a year l8er). Any ways, so they start workin on fixin her, but for some reason it takes them 3 weeks to get the 1/4 pannel from a scrap yard that is no more than 10 min from my house, 25 min from the shop. So i was pissed off at that. Any ways, so all in all it took them about a month and a half to give me my car back, witch they didnt fix the interior plastics that got damaged from the accident too. So what ever..i got it back, but, this is where my year long headache starts. So, first thing that i notice is 1. when they painted my car, my original bumper had been painted over once or twice cheaply, so there was alot of spider web cracks coming through. So they replaced my bumper with an OE style aftermarket bumper..that doesnt fit. The way its all lined up is all off, i have alot of gaps, the bumper looks like some one took a sawz-all to it. So i was pissed at that, then i found a bunch of overspray on the car, a few spots they missed, some runs, a few spots where there are bumps and bubbles in the paint, etc. They also fixed all the rust on the bottom of my doors, inside of the hatch, etc and guess whats coming back. So what ever..its covered under warrenty. Any ways, so i went and talked to the owner of the garage about gettin every thing fixed about 2 or 3 weeks ago. So he said he will fix all the stone chips, try and fix all the paint runs and screw ups, and also "trim my front bumper". But he wont cover these to stone chips on the side of my car at the rear wheel well, and also he wont cover the rust that they didnt do correctly. So im kinda pissed at that and that now im gonna have a bigger gap there now when hez finished trimming. But yesterday, i found some great things. Like 1. where he welded the new 1/4 pannel in on the rocker sill, its all rusting. Also, i found that the screws he put in for the retaining one on my marker lights are the wrong size, that he stripped the bolts for the liscence plate lights, so now i cant change my bulbs and best of all, he broke both of my lowbeams. I got some new PIAA lights from my work yesterday and after work i went to put them in. Found that both the levels/scales for the hight adjusting on the lowbeams are broken. 1 clean off and the other the casing is broken so it just spins. and then i also found out that my drivers side one, some one tightened it down to hard or drilled it or somethin because the bolt that holds it to the rad support up top has alot of play and also the hole for the bolt to be inserted through on the assembly its self, has been reamed down on and bored out more. So yea, im just really freaking happy with these guys and their "A Plus Work"

Note to any one in Toronto, STAY AWAY FROM MASSIVE AUTOBODY AND COLLISION!!!!!

sorry, had to let some frusteration out. Any one else have to deal with a$$holes like this? what did you do? should i report them to the BBB?

I believe that, by law, if their warranty says all work that they do is covered, then they have to fix the rust. If they don't then I would report them, and let them know that you are going to do so if they don't. That whole story sucks to no end. frown.gif

When I used to work in a bodyshop, we would not guarantee rust removal unless a new panel was fitted as it is notoriously hard to get rid of permanently, good luck but in the UK I suspect you wouldn't get the rust under warranty.

Sucks dude....that's what happens when you let your Celica fall into the hands of someone else.=[ I do all my own work on my cars. ;o)

man wtf, that sucks hardcore. Did you talk to them about taking them to court to shake things up a bit?

A while back I had a similar thing happen to me, my mom backed into my car and when I got it repaired they painted it the wrong color tone and some dark and light spots. I b*tched and they didn't want to do nothing, feeding me bull**** how it's not possible to match the paint and all. So I said: "I'll take my car to an other body shop, get a second oppinion on that, contact my lawyer and we'll go from there, k?"

In the end they accepted to redo the work. They still managed to break my trunk white neon, causing a short and f-ing up all my dash lights and my door triggers for my alarm. They also broke my reverse light wire, probly by trying to move my battery, which is in the trunk with a few relays, one being for my reverse lights. They somehow oversprayed on my driver seat. They also covered ALL the interior with bondo dust, and i mean all, inside the panels, outside, under the dash, everywhere, bondo dust. F*ck !

but man, i would really shake them up, get your intimidating clam tone out. Do like i was going to, go to a reputable body shop and have them inspect their work and get a report/estimate. That should stir things up a bit.
Good luck with everything

and guy plz keep the comments "this is coming from a guy that did this and that and blah blah blah" off this thread. sh*tting on this thread with stuff like that could possibility irritate valo666 some more, concidering he's already gone thru alot. thanks

since they are losing $ on warranty work... wouldn't they just do another bad job? i dunno.. maybe you should consider taking it to another place? it might cost more to fix someone else's mistake.. but they might do a better job and save you some headaches in the long run?

Don't even mess around, talk to a lawyer, get another estimate. Then sue for them to pay the other body shop. You DO NOT want them to do the work again!

And you can get rid of rust, its called cutting it out and replacing with a patch, and yes i know i worked in a body shop and have several '60s and '70s cars.
