If the exhaust noise level violates the local noise regulations, then the cops will hassle you for it. I had a modified Mx-6 for years, and never got pulled over due to the exhaust (speeding on the other hand... biggrin.gif ) You might want to check the noise regulations in Tampa to see if your car just might be too loud.

Most states have laws, not typicaly on mods, but DB's limits as any sound goes.

Here I believe its around 96DB muffler or sound system, and go figure Ive been pop'd for both.

If you live in the Tampa/St Pete area the cops will hassle you all the time for have an aftermarket muffler. There are lots of people that go out to the Gandy and hang out on the weekends that have been getting hassled lately as well. Alot of it stems from the recent "Street Racing" rolleyes.gif problems that have been publicized recently...
Check out Tampa Racing for some of the many post regarding getting pulled over for exhaust modifications.

The guy didn't give me a ticket, that's why I thought it might be bogus. Hey kbprice are you one of those guys that sit out at the beach right near the bridge? I live on Gandy and I was pulled over between Dale Marbry and the bridge. He told me that they were tryin to prevent street racing too. The cops down there are always waiting by the bridge. It was 1AM and my car was super loud when I drove past him.

I looked it up online and found this for a motorcycle: Cycle

Ha, no. I don't hang out at the Gandy. I actually work right by there and work the night shift on some weekends and see them or hear them "Drifting" through my office complex at 2AM. The one time I did go to the Gandy I to got pulled over for my exhaust, didn't get a ticket either, but vowed I would never go back again. Plus there are WAY to many stupid people doing stupid thing out there.
