sometimes when i first put on some music and the volume on my headunit is low, then my front speakrs dont have any sound in them until i raise the volume. then all is well if i raise it or lower it some more. y is this?
edit: actually this doesnt always happen....but when it does...i just have to fiddle with the volume for a bit then itll stay normal edit: k i decided to test the speakers some more. it appears to only be the front left one. when the volume is around the listening lvl i like it is fine...but when it is lower than normal, it may be off. if the volume is at the correct lvl, and the speaker is fine...THEN if i lower the volume and "slam" my door shut (how u would normally shut it)...it turns off. itll come back on when i raise the volume. what could this be? just a loose wire or something? Loose wire is what it sounds like to me, either that or the wire (strangely enough, but does happen) has worn from the door opening and closing over the years. I would check the connections at the speaker and then at the deck and if those look ok then I would look into replacing that wire.

so i finally got my front speakers fixed. i went to Audio Connection in Columbia, MD. They seem to be real nice guys. I recommend them.
Basically, they told me that my install job was a piece of ****. They ghetto-rigged the front speakers. The back ones APPEAR to be fine. But the front ones were basically hanging by a screw or two. The guy even said the right speaker fell on his lap when he opened the door panel. Basically, he felt that the problem was the lack of support of the speakers. He fabricated a sturdy enclosure for the speakers and wired them up again. Sounds way better and no problems so far (if there are any, i'll just go back cause theres a lifetime warranty on the job). That is all. =) |

This is an old post, but might be helpful. Actually from my experience, my case was exactly like yours. I have the premium sound and the front speakers hung by screws. What I think is the install from the factory or by the dealer themselves. My speakers on front are low too.
