hey everyone i was going through a few things in the form and i see alot of people putting in the 7th short for the celica (part number PT04-20000-10) yet I also see in the 2006 TRD parts book that there is a short shifter available for the 6th gen as well (part number PTR04-20940-04). is there a reason why most of you go fro the 7th gen shifter over the 6th gen one..or maybe im just nuts?

i don't think there is much of a difference. the twm is stubbier and the trd comes with the whole shift assembly. but other than that, i don't think the difference in performance is worth the extra hundred bucks. its up to you though. if you like having name brand parts and have the money, go for it. if not, the ebay 7gc ss is a great inexpensive alternative.

I have the TWM and i love it. I love how tight and stiff it is when i shift. I spent the extra money just because i like buying parts that are ment for my car. But a buddy close to me has the 7th gen and says its pretty much the same but idk lol. (its up to you)

This may be a bit off topic but I bought the 5th gen TWM shifter but car was totaled before I could install. Would the 5th gen TWM fit the 6th gen?
