I was wondering if this wiring diagram will work? I know a couple of friends who as well as myself who arent lucky to have the stock fog lights. I just got a pair of fogs as well, but however, I only have the fogs without the wirings. So after reading up on some stuff I was wondering if this wiring diagram will work? Any inputs? If it does, hopely it'll help those who wants to install whatever type of fogs into their car.
As for the relay as reference to you guys, this was given to me by K-ESD who helped me a lot regarding wiring. Please tell me if its wrong so I can correct it. Once I get all inputs I'll try it out and see if it works. This post has been edited by LeonStryfe: Jul 17, 2006 - 7:30 PM |

You can also just buy one of those wiring kits from an auto store. Quick and easy.

The fogs I got are eurolite with halos in em. They have three wires comming out of them. The black is the ground, the white is connected to the fuse and the blue one is supposed to connect to the turn signal.
Fogs which I got for a hella cheap price. The Halo is supposed to be used for just as is or it can be sync with the turn signal. I was wondering, if I dont conenct the blue wire to anything, would it just light up as is? And if I do connect it to the turn signal, which will then sync with it, which wire do I need to splice for it? Thanks in advance |

OK, your turn signals should have 3 wires attached to the bulb connector.
1- 12v with parking lights on (GREEN) 2- Ground (-) (WHITE-BLACK) 3- 12v switched for turn signals (GREEN-BLACK=Left) (GREEN-YELLOW=Right) You are going to want to splice into the first wire. Im guessing the blue wire you mention is for your halos? you would just splice that wire into the GREEN 12v so that your halos will turn on when your sidemarkers and parking lights turn on. If you leave the blue wire unpluged then your fogs should still work, but your halos will not light up. -------------------- |

Btw, if I decide to sync the halos with the turn signal, would that kill it's life faster? Out of curiosity and thanks again.

Definitely. Halogens run at a very high temperature, so the cycling would fatigue the filament and it would fail sooner.

QUOTE(94GT @ Jul 18, 2006 - 2:35 PM) Definitely. Halogens run at a very high temperature, so the cycling would fatigue the filament and it would fail sooner. But he doesn't want the FOG lights to blink, he just wants the HALO on the outside to blink, and i think the Halos are lit by LEDs, but that picture was kinda small so i don't know for sure. LEDs barely heat up at all (or so i heard), use very little amount of electricity, and have no problem blinking if you want them to. It is for the rear fog lights. There was a part number in one of these threads i think.... -------------------- |

Well thats the rear fog switch. It would work, but if you want the actual front fog light switch that is located on the head light lever, the part number is 84140-20560

I just bought some OEM fog lights to replace my PIAA's. Would it be easier/possible for me to just plug the OEM's into the PIAA wiring?

if your PIAAs worked with your current wiring, then your OEM fogs should have no problem =).
