I looked through the howtos and see there is a write-up on making an accord cai fit on a celi gt. I've searched eBay and see alot that claim to fit the 6th gen. Has anybody personally bought and installed any of these intakes? The prices vary, and I'm willing to pay alittle bit more if they are that better. Thanks for your input!

QUOTE(phokur @ Aug 16, 2006 - 1:38 PM) I looked through the howtos and see there is a write-up on making an accord cai fit on a celi gt. Just go with the accord one. Thats what i did, along with many other members and its really simple and fits well. I had to widen the hole a little cause my piping was 2.75 in. as opposed to being 2.5 in. Sounds great and is cheap as hell. But if you really want to buy a CAI made for the 6th gen GT then go ahead. Im sure they fit perfect. But remember. Its just an intake. You can get the same gains by keeping the stock air box and dropping in a K&N filter, you just wont have the flashy bling in your engine bay. -------------------- Teh Celica sleeps for Winter '06. Whoa, a drop in runs 45 on eBay. It seems cheaper to go cai. I love the sucking noise they make too, haha. So what exactly are the benifits of the accord over the celi one? Also these auctions are showing one universal for all 6th gens. It sounds like there's a difference. Maybe I should just go for the 2 piece accord and modify it to fit like the howto.

Benefits of the accord CAI over the celi? Price. They show the same pic casue they are too damn lazy to show a pic of the actual product. I really wouldnt think into this too much. Like i said its just an intake. If your really into intakes n stuff. Go buy a $150 weapon R or $200 injen. or spend $3 on PVC piping and a $5 filter and make the exact same thing without the brand name. I have the ebay accord CAI on my car. Its a good kit and does a very good job! i highly recommend it -------------------- Former Celica Owner... RIP 08-2007

go with the accord cai. the main reason why it works better than the $100+ celica cai or any other intake is because the accord cai puts the filter far away from the engine and into the fender near the front bumper opening, where its gets plenty of cool air.

ahh man, leave the accord cai alone...slap in a k&n drop in filter, remove the bottom reservior and call it a day. $40 is your cost.

just stating what ive researched and done already before. but now i am back to an injen setup but if i was going low budget the drop in works just as well...remember about being carb legal too, injen is, cai isnt.

if you pull the tube leading into the air box it gives the stock intake an more 'agressive' sound and makes a noticable difference in the performance, without being extrememly loud or making any harsh sucking sounds.

Thanks for the replies! There are a few different intakes on eBay for the accord. Can somebody link me to a intake that is sure to work? I know it's such a basic thing, but I'd rather do it once and be sure to do it right. Thanks!
