i'm really sorry about the short notice... the meet is tomorrow, and i JUST found out about this board 5 minutes ago. so, here are the details:

i am organizing a Celica meet on September 10th.

so far, i've posted threads announcing and detailing this event on:
celicatech.com
4gcelica.net
alltrac.net
newcelica.org
and some Celica based Myspace groups.

i have it planned for the San Pablo recreation area at the San Pablo dam.

the address:
7301 san pablo dam road
el sobrante, ca

here are some photos of the park that i've taken with my camera phone.
http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v137/not12listen/the_park/

i'm going to impose some rules though.

1. blast your music as loud as you want OUTSIDE of the park. once you enter the park, the volume drops to a reasonable level... reasonable to an 80 year old.
2. NO BURNOUTS or DONUTS or jackassery in any car.
3. take care of your own trash.

we dont need to bug the park rangers, and we dont need them them to call the cops or kick us out. its a great spot, and i want for people to treat it with the respect it deserves.

also, this is a public park, there will be kids running around, and just being kids. we have to be careful that we dont hurt them. simple stuff. common sense. too many people dont pay attention though... otherwise, i wouldnt say anything.

so, the question was asked (on the AllTrac forum) about taking a drive on some of the local roads... here is my response:

as they are public roads, i trust that people will have common sense if they choose to drive any local roads.

if you wanna do a drive, keep the number of cars going at one time, very small. like 3 or 4 max. be HONEST about how comfortable you are driving those roads. if you're slow, drive last in line.

yeah. that kinda common sense.

so, as the time is drawing near, it needs to be addressed what people are bringing what to the meet.

snacks:
drinks:
charcoal:
meats:
veggies:
frisbees (etc, etc):

so, sign up people!

Voxtrace from the AllTrac forum is bringing soda, like coke, etc.
i am bringing 1 or 2 bags of charcoal, lighter fluid and matches...

for anyone interested, the following weekend (september 17th) i will be attending a local RallyX event:
http://www.sfrscca.org/RallyX/

one other quick note...

if you cannot follow the simple rules above, do not show up. i'd rather not have the rangers kick us out.

alrighty... the g/f and i are heading off soon to the site. we're going to get there just a bit early, and try to get the bbq going.

once you enter the park, just go downhill, pay the fee to get in ($6.50), and then just go forward and down the road a bit, we'll be on the right side.

just look for the black AllTrac with a white hood. its really easy to spot! smile.gif

You can never go overboard with promoting! I put on a multi-forum meet last night and for the past month I posted on 25 sites and i got 250+ cars! :-) I hope your meet went well! :-)
