After a couple of months of issues, the 3SGTE in my black hatch is finally running.. well let me put it this way, it starts on command now!

But here are my new set of concerns/issues...

she runs really rough at idle and stalls pretty quickly..

however, if i hold the pedal to about 1200 or above then i can get her to idle and stay relativly smooth.

ps:(no exhaust is hooked up at the moment, just downpipe and thats it)

any ideas anyone?

Edit: Update she runs and idles now! more down below

make sure the MAF sensor and all the piping attached to it is leak free.
also make sure the plug pluggin into it has 4 pins that arent rusted or pushed in.

my car did the same thing when i had a huge vac leak, there are 2 nipples on the back of the intake manifold, since i did not pull my motor from a clip i just had the motor, i did not notice these back 2 nipples, one was plugged, and one was open, this caused my car not to idle at all, i had to keep on the gas to keep it running, and it sounded terrible while running, so id look around for a big vac leak.

All you had to do was switch those two plugs, huh? I figured smile.gif

As said, check for vacuum leaks, and make sure the hose coming from the IAC valve is connected to the intake after the AFM.

ok since i only get to go home every other weekend or what not it took me about a month to put a worm clamp on something and replace a small hose!! woot.gif

but now she runs and idles fine. She actually runs great!

I just need to put the axles back in as well as put all of the brakes on.

I'm pumped! I might get to test her on the road as soon as next weekend!

Thanks for all the help so far biggrin.gif tongue.gif biggrin.gif
