I have looked for a post but couldn't see anything, so the question is has anyone wired up their Full beam headlight to work as a main driving light to give the twin light look? I done this to a twin headlamp car before so wondered if anyone has some celica know how.
Help appriciated or a point to a relevant post -------------------- My Celica Is Now For Sale

damn! that *would* look cool. i'd think it'd be easy to do. but then not street legal cause you wouldn't have hi beams.
might be really do-able if you used gt4 style fog-lights, but converted to be hi beams. This post has been edited by Zimluura: Nov 8, 2006 - 2:02 PM |

just use low beam bulbs in the high beams and turn your brights on, you will have to shave off part of the bulb plastic to get it in. and you would have to wire your fogs to a switch so you could turn them on if you wanted.

yeah i was thinking normal single headlights on other cars go to full beam so i could make both do that no probs, just replicate the driving wires from a single bulb car .
Or make the celica fogs the high beam & do without fogs This post has been edited by Alex-UKSC: Nov 8, 2006 - 9:10 PM -------------------- My Celica Is Now For Sale

I have seen a device which turns hi-beams into driving lights by reducing the power on those lights to 40%. Still, one can use them as hi-beams. Also providing automated switch-on on ignition and switch-off on start of regular driving lights - the latter doesn't allow for four lights to be on as driving lights (illegal in my country). But with small rework this could be overridden.

Isnt the high beams at 40% the same as the day time running lights? Im not sure how much of the rest of the world has these but they are lights that automatically come on when the car is on.
I know you can get a relay to give cars day-time running lights (DRL's). When you do this then the inner lights come on as driving lights. Then you would have the inner lights on all the time. If you wanted all 4 lights to be on simultaneously (sp) there should be a way to wire the low-beam lights on a seperate circut from the rest of the lights (DRL's/hi beams) to make these turn on and off independently. |
