Well i drive a 97 GT, bone stock 5sfe w/ bosh plat. +4's, Injen shortram, Greddy sp catback, and DG performance Test pipe .... and on a full tank of 92 Shell V-power i'm getting less that 300 miles to the tank :'( .
What should i look at first? The plugs? ... O2 sensor? i know i have a small exhaust leak somewhere, but it couldnt cause all that. Any suggestions?

I generally get 300-330 miles before I fill up, and I'm pretty heavy on the gas.

300 miles to the tank is normal

if you feel it went down a lot, check your tire pressure. you can also try a new o2 sensor. those are pretty much the only 2 things that would affect your mpg, besides your style of driving.

i fill up when on bone dry, and w/ highway driving and no aggressive driving - i've seen as little as 240-250 miles to the tank... which is really depressing frown.gif

wow i have a lead foot, lots of aggressive driving i get right at 400, but i let it stay on E for a good while lol, 440 is the most i ever got, all highway, coasted into the gas station, and yes i know that's so bad for your car but i was on the florida turnpike and thier like no gas stations for a 100 miles or so

holy crap! 400? aH!
i drive city, normally agressivly, and get 320ish and highest being 350 with some highway driving..... ive always thought i had decent gas mileage....but that dun sound to good if you are getting 50+ more to a tank.

and ive never cared of gas prices, never complained, but i am curious now, what should i do to get it up to 400?

besides lighten the foot smile.gif

I have to agree with (illneversellmyceli). I drive really aggressive with 151,000 miles on the car I'm still getting in the 380s That's city and highway driving. Just Highway I'm usually above 400 and that's driving on average 75mph. V-power rocks and it's even better with an octane booster. That's all I drive on.

I find we get 315-335 per tank with mostly city driving and 365-385 if mostly highway.
The car has close to 80,000 on it and has never had a tune up (getting everything together for one right now).

is shell V-power gas worth the extra $.10-$.20 a gallon? I usually fill up at safeway cause it's the cheapest gas I can find.

DAMN 14.4 gallons? I guess I just never looked it up to see how big the tank is but I believe the most I've ever put in is around 13.2 or 13.3. I never let it run down real low though. I've ran cars out of gas before: pushing the car to the station < getting a ride to fill a gas can < pulling up to the pump smile.gif.

try it for once and if you don't fill the car driving better then is not worthy; to me it is I get better MPG and the car feels better to drive.

people you are confusing 2 things. GT and ST.

ST's are going to get higher mileage per tank. Right around 400. I usually am at 400 with 1/4 tank left- that includes some spirited jaunts down the road.

GT's are going to get less gas mileage because of the bigger engine. From what I understand somethig in the 300-350 miles on a tank is normal.

Kamax, if you are filling up to 14.4 I am going to be worried, as the tank is only 13.9

^^^ I think the problem might be on the gas station, I used to go to a gas station where I always spent more money on gas than any other and the gas last lesser time than any other, so I changed gas station and my MPG problems were solved.

In the city i get 400 - 450 miles per tank (~ 700km).
If i drive all highway im around 500 miles per tank (~800km)

I usually only have .5 gallon left... sometimes less

It works out to ~ 32 mpg
