I have experienced first hand the Tein SS w/ EDFC on my friends 240sx and it works great. I wanted to learn more about the Tanabe system to see if it is any better. From what i have found out is that the Tanabe is much more expensive than the Tein system...any input?

Dont know if anyone has tested it already, but TEIN themself mentioned that EDFC isn't compatible with the US version of the SS dampers.

so if you wanted EDFC you would have to import SS's from japan or choose a different coilover? that sucks

Well the thing is, I dont know for sure. I need detailed pictures of both the front and rear struts (from above) to compare them with my struts. If its identical then it shouldn't be a problem to fit them. Just order the appropiate EDFC set and your good to go.

The real difference in the US and EU/JDM set is spring rates. The US ones are a bit stiffer compared to mine.

so then i guess it just comes down to preference whether or not you want stiff or soft...oh yeah never mind about the Tanabe, i over looked a major detail, The TEAS system is only compatible with the one sport coilovers which are only for the top tuner cars (supra,240sx, skyline, etc. / and are $500 more) the Sustec pro is not compatible with the TEAS. My friend mentioned that there might be another coilover company that has the electronic adjustable shocks. Do you know who it is?

Well the only problem is that you have to cut the insulating thats underneath the bonnet, I also used EDFC with a ST/GT hood. Dont really think the top of a US version damper is higher then that of a EU/JDM one.

i heard about the hood problem a little bit ago. Ive been thinking if EDFC doesnt work ill just go with regular coilovers like KSport or JIC

from what i can tell the edfc will not fit under an oem hood, it barely clears my carbon hood, but it works great

and the other company that makes a similar product is Cusco, i am looking into getting a set to go on my RX-8
