I'm confused... I want to tint my windows, but there's so many different percentages and numbers about tinting. Everyone is telling me to go 20% tint, but I want it darker than that. What are all the percentages and all that about? help!

the % is the ratio of light let out vs light let in if i remember correctly. i have 15% tints and i wouldnt go any darker. 5% is a limo tint and youre asking to get pulled over if its that dark.

I've got 5% all around and honestly I don't recommend it lol. It's really hard to see when its raining or at night if theres no street lights. It does look really, REALLY good though

If you want darker than 2.5% they can put a double layer and it would be HELL of dark to see even during the day. I would NOT recommend that at ALL! 5% is dark enough, it alone is a challenge to see through at night. |

I just have my rear hatch window & rear sides done as the visibility is then no worse than driving a van.
Also the UK police a hot on dark tints on the driver & passenger windows so it's not worth the hassel of me doing the fronts. This post has been edited by Alex-UKSC: Jan 24, 2007 - 11:38 PM -------------------- My Celica Is Now For Sale
