the easy stuff:
oil and filter change, spark plugs, wires, distributor cap and rotor, air filter, pcv valve, and check to make sure all your fluids [p/s, brake, clutch, tranny] are full and clear

if you want to go further (more expensive things that are most likely unnecessary):
coolant flush and fill, fuel filter, change all the belts including the timing belt, thermostat, water pump

thats all I can think of right now... I'm sure theres more to be added

Anyone have any tips on how to pull that PCV valve out without breaking it off in the valve cover? I've tried leaning on it pretty hard, and I stopped for fear of snapping it.

it should just pull right out, then theres that little clip on the hose. theres nothing else really holding it in there. confused.gif

Okay, I'll try it again. I was trying to pry it out with a flat blade screw driver and I thought it might snap. I guess mine's just in there extra tight. Thanks for the help!
