I have sold my old 18's, and now have the crappy 17's that came with the car and am looking to buy a new set of alloys. I really wanted some TE37's, but they are too expensive, so are kindof out of the question (Unless someone is planning to sell their set cheap ), anway I like the look of the Rota GTR alloys and wanted to ask you guys what you think of a) the company ROTA and b) the design of the alloys c) what colour to choose. Also, they are 18 x 8.5 with an offest of 35, this should be enough to clear the GT4 front calipers??
p.s. I've read the offset guide floating around on the fourm but this makes no sense to me at all!! This post has been edited by Aus: Feb 3, 2007 - 10:20 PM -------------------- 1996 UK white ST205

Rota's do some very nice alloys (including the GTR's). BUT (and this is big one) the GTR's only come in 5x114. we run 5x100.
As for offset, i guess the easiest way to simplify it is, the smaller the number, the further it will poke out. ie, +35 will line up to the arch more and a +42 will sit further inside the arch. I'm running 38mm on my 17"x8" Oz's and have plenty of caliper clearance. Where bouts in uk are you? This post has been edited by raz128: Feb 4, 2007 - 12:43 AM -------------------- |

Only heard of bad accounts with rota with their slipstreams blowing up. A local autocrosser had this with his 15x6.5 rota slips on his 00 GTS

I phoned www.rarerims.co.uk (I think thats there site) and they told me that ROTA have just made the GTRs in 5x100 stud pattern only for 18 x 8.5 ones with a 35 offset. The only thing is that I later found out that the picture that i'd been looking at was for the 9.5inch wide alloys, and the 8.5's are slightly different (Less angle on the spokes). Thanks for the offset info by the way, that cleared it up for me!! I live in Worcester, south of just south of Brum. -------------------- 1996 UK white ST205
