Im not sure how long this has been there but its at least 48 hours. Anyway I am scared to try & take it out myself. The tire seems fine w/ it in there & I dont want to mess w/ it. I had to drive to work w/ it like that today too, I was so scared! But its fine so far...& the tire still has all its air.

I will most likely just go buy a new tire....Grrrr!!! It sucks. I wonder if my warrenty covers tires getting screwed? lol

even though its on the side of the tire??? I wasnt sure if that would make it harder to fix or not

The screw is still in the tread... ur good to go with the patch kit.
Cheap and easy to do.. I patched my girlfriends tire after she got a screw in it and that tire ended up outlasting the rest....

You should have no trouble pluging that. You can use a screwdriver and turn the screw out before you plug it.

at PepBoys we aren't allowed to patch a tire with a hole that close to the sidewall

That is non-repairable. Screw is too close. When patching a tire, you need to buff the inside of the tire. Since the screw is close to the sidewall, you would be buffing the sidewall of the tire which can cause the structure of the sidewall to weaken. It's all for safety.

I only charge 5 dollars to plug a tire at my shop.

I have had to plug two of my tires because of screw within the last two weeks. The construction in the neighborhoods around my house are killing me!
