Im not looking for a ****ty, obnoxiously loud muffler, but something that has a deep tone and sounds good. I want it loud but not ****ty sounding. Im debating on basically these 2. Feel free to express opinions, or even linking other mufflers that are for sale that fit my needs.
thanks

These are exactly what im debating on buying
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/OBX-B10-HKS...tem170090140638
and http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/TOYOTA-SUPR...sspagenameZWDVW
I also noticed some mufflers with the burnt tips... i havent seen it in real life and i was wondering if they are nice looking

you don't want something that sounds crappy, but you are looking at the crappy mufflers. Check out Magnaflow's sport mufflers. They have a name you can trust, not the eBay special.

EDIT: burnt tip mufflers are sex. My brother had one on his Legacy and it was to drool over.

that isn't an HKS exhaust. It is an HKS Styled exhaust. Do you honestly think anyone in their right mind would sell an HKS muffler for 20 bucks? laugh.gif laugh.gif

Here is a clip of my exhaust. 2.25" back from stock header with a ractive muffler.

I like this one
http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/shopexd...main&id=801

but look here too
http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/shopdis...main&id=388

also Greddy makes the SP2 exhaust system for the Celica. You could look into that as well.

Yeah dude, if you want deep sound that isn't crappy then Magnaflow is the way to go. Check out their site, and listen to the sample of some of the cars on there. They don't have our car, but it should give you a decent idea. I've used Magnaflow in the past and plan to continue using them in the future.

I got a Megan Racing N1 muffler that is similar to the OBX N1 and it has a deep exhaust tone the isn't obnoxiously loud or has that irritating bee-like exhaust tone.

Lol no offense, everyone has their taste, I particulary like the 240 sx exhaust tones..they are like..the only 4 cylinder engines I heard so far that had a really nice tones.

If anyone is going to do exhaust I would only recommend doing the whole thing. Just changing out the muffler won't sound as good and it definitely won't do anything for performance.
As for 4cyl exhaust tones, I love the WRX...such throaty sound.

In the end really getting an exhaust done will give you hardly any performance boost biggrin.gif. BTW how much did you guys cost you do get a catback exhaust done? What type of bend? mandrel or Crush?

I've got the same muffler. Mines louder though. I've got 2.25 strait pipe with header. My car sounds similar to a 2.0 Subaru. When I get on it, it does have a little higher note than the Suby, but it's not that much higher. Everyone seems to like my exhaust. I just built it for best flowing. When I re-did my motor, the sound definately got better.

On my Camry (sold frown.gif ) I got a top cat back and it cost me $700, but included in that price was the Magnaflow muffler and high-flow cat. So about $350 for the Magnaflow parts, and another $350 for the rest, and I got mandrel bent.
