I have already had ACL surgery on my right knee and yesterday playing lacrosse I f'd up my left knee...and i am waiting till the swelling goes down after icing and then electrodes with the trainer so i should know by wednesday what i actually have done to my knee. Anyone else have anything worse? And for anyone who has had ligament replacement don't you agree you'd rather break a bone or two rather then the ligament?

Yeah, I had the same thing happen.. TWICE. It is absolutely painful. After all of the physical therapy, it still kills me sometimes.
Plus, I have arthritis in both my knees now. -------------------- |

2001 trip to poconos. Black diamond middle of March. Going down the hill i discovered that there was no snow. Left knee all 3 ligamets torn, the bone on the bottom that looks like ==3 the whole one side was torn out and wrapped around knee with ligaments. all dangling there. 2 years and 2 surgurues later i can not kneel down on that knee and it does not bend fully.
1992 fell from second floor got a compressed breakage of 3 vertebrae in my back. 6 months in cast and confined to bed i was ok 1994-1998 about 16 fractures (legs arms ribs) about 50 dislocations (ankles wristsm elbows, shoulders etc) and other occupational hazards while on junior skiing olypics team in russia. Mostly thanks to mogul and trampolines. 2003 Crashed my celi.. surgeon says to fix my neck they need to operate at a high risk of paralysis so i said no thank you . 2005 while putting rims on my car that was on a lift a wheel fell and hit back of my leg dislocating my healthy right knee so I now have 2 wobbly knees lol. When I was a freshman in high school I was at a skatepark riding in the half pipe and basically blew up my knee. Someone had put a nice thick layer of new wax on the coping of the pipe (when I say thick, I mean you could cut it off with a knife) and when I came up to tailslide my board slid out from under me and I proceeded to smash my knee into the coping, bounce off and our towards the center, and then fall ~15 feet to the very bottom of the pipe - again landing on my knee. My knee about instantly swelled to the size of a grapefruit and I couldn't move it. The doctors told me I ruptured these little fluid sacks behind my knee cap and ripped the tendons off. My knee cap was essentially floating around in there. They went in and did surgery and I went through physical therapy and now my knees pop and scrape when ever I croutch down or walk up stairs.

Man, I agree with you - ACL surgery here, too. Ripped my left one to shreds playing hockey (No checking league, my ass.) I would much rather break something than blow out the knee. It's been about 6 years and I can't kneel on it either and it grinds and pops. The way I look at it is I'd rather have it grind and pop than not have had it fixed and still be all wobbly. At least I can still play on it this way.

i gotta go for surgery on my knees *maybe ACL*, i have to get my muscels cut and put back together. The muscel that hold my knee cap in place is stretched out to much so my knee cap slides all over the place and i have to wear petela stabilizer knee braces when ever i do any thing. I also tore my rotator cuff twice on the same shoulder. I had a slight tare in my thumb muscel from Parkour. Went to do a monkey vault and my thumb got caught and pushed back really far. I had to wear a wrist brace for 5 months but it hurt like hell for around 8. Ive cracked my ribs 6 times from BMXing. And i have a slipped/compressed disk in my back thanks to my car accident. Constant back pain is fun. But never fully broken any thing....yet.
Oh, and i have arthitus in my left hip. I got it when i was 12. Dont ask how..apparently i had streap throat and the virus can spread in your body..like my mom got pink eye because of it and some how i ended up with rumatoid arthitus in my hip. |

Torn ligaments in my right ankle three times. Dislocated my left shoulder 4 times (basically slips in and out now). Broken left wrist. Broken nose twice. Broke a small piece off my jaw (can grab it and feel it move around!). Broken right ring finger.
I think that about sums up my injuries to date...maybe I should stop giving 110% at sports! lol. -------------------- |
